So they just let the bullies get away with their behavior, and punish the victim?

I saw that article as well and I am not surprised. I remember how much I got bullied in school and the trouble I would get into. Teachers and principle said I was the center of the disruptions never mind the fact I never initiated them and mostly got trounced rather badly. Being an aspie and picked on in school go hand in hand I suppose. Just back in those days there wasn't a diagnosis (that I am aware of) and it wasn't till late last year I got diagnosed.

So yes, if the lunchbox was the cause of the disruption they took the easy way out. It is not right but most of life is not right and VERY unfair. Society wants all to conform these days. Anyone different seems to be a target and they must make you conform.

My first reaction was, "What's wrong with letting the kid have his MLP lunchbox and teaching the little sh!ts to leave him alone??" For as long as I can remember, I was deprived of my comfort/coping items on the grounds that, "People will make fun of you for it" and told, "People aren't going to change for you, so you have to change for them." It's nauseating, and I think it's about time it changed.

This is more about understanding human reactions/behavior (of "authorities" witnessing or receiving reports) about bullying.
Surprisingly enough apparently the natural inclination is to "feel" that the bullied person should -very physically- resolve the problem themselves.

I'm not saying this is right, I'm just saying that I was surprised that other people have studied this and noticed this tendency.

Just another sad case of the majority trying to stamp out individuality, and encourage old stereotypes to flourish. I mean, come on, what's with all the stupid double standards nowadays? Everybody's cool with girls who dig Star Wars, so why can't they be cool with guys who dig My Little Pony? FFS, people need to learn some acceptance.

what a world. in a better world at least the kid's parents would pull him out of that hellhole of a school.

I thought kids liked MLP. My daughter's friend's boyfriend has a MLP themed and painted CAR for goodness sakes, and he's popular. And not just popular with a small group of nerds, he's a popular guy with a pretty gf who is also popular. And he drives a pink and purple car with MLP accessories. He's the one whose house they play D&D at.

I got mocked because I had an Emergency!lunchbox.I guess because I was a girl,I could never figure out why it mattered.

Bullies only bully so that they themselves aren't victimized for something about themselves. It is a way of distracting what they consider to be their weakness which might get them bullied onto someone else with a different or the same weakness.

This is why if I ever have kids, they are either getting home schooled, or going to a private school. Society is ignorant.
