Petition to remove Russia from UN Human Rights Council
- Petition launched following Russian military incursion into Ukraine’s Crimea region
The petition launched Monday evening on Change.org urges Obama to live up to his promise to sanction Russia following its military incursion into the Ukraine’s Crimea region by suspending Moscow from the HRC, which oversees global human rights abuses.
“True international isolation requires the immediate removal of Russia from the United Nation’s top human rights body, the U.N. Human Rights Council,” states the petition, which was created by Human Rights Voices, an advocacy group that exposes global human rights violations.
I notice they didn't call for Kenya, Mauritania, Maldives, Egypt, Sudan, Zimbabwe, the PRC, Uganda, Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Qatar, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Cuba etc etc to be removed from the UNHRC.
you can add the united states to the list too they actually invaded two country's and currently occupy one still. they also fund terrorist groups to fight proxy wars. the united states created and actively funds al qaeda. the same group that they used to start the war in Afghanistan they are funding in Syria.

Just read the "history" section in the Al-Qaeda entry on Wikipedia for a quick overview. Basically, during the Soviet-Afghan wars, the CIA funded and supported the Afghan rebels, including Bin Laden and his group. Once the Soviets ended the conflict, Bin Laden was free to run rampant with his extremist jihad activities.
This is the kind of thing that happens when your national mentality is to arm and fund the enemies of your current enemy with no consideration for who they are.

You can also add that the United States along with the Europeans help to install the current fascist thug illegitimate government occupying the Ukraine at this moment. This group of neo-Nazis, has openly called for the death of Russian men, women and children, as well as Jews. The news media never talks about this puppet government openly, but you can watch videos of their thugs beating resignations out of people who don't submit to them. Furthermore, the mainstream media in the US are calling this an invasion by Russia, while stating that the Russian troops are on the border of Ukraine. I watched Fox news today talking about this " crisis" and "invasion" while showing stock footage of armored vehicles flying the Ukrainian flag. They consider us so moronic and apathetic that none of us would know the difference between a Russian and Ukrainian flag waving in our faces. I am absolutely disgusted by their propaganda and lies surrounding this issue. I love my country, I am a patriot, I will gladly die for my country, but America has been quietly invaded and converted into a caricature of the legacy our forefathers left us. Yet again, they are trying to lead us down the path of war. Yet again, the powerful elite few want to pay for their interests with the blood of our children. And what to 300 million average Americans gain from Ukraine, in exchange for our sons and daughters lives? Nothing. My heart aches to see the apathy of the American people, which allows these charlatans and monsters to stay in power and lead this country down the path of destruction. It is time to get rid of all of them, and take back that legacy that our forefathers gave us, that which made this country great, and the envy of the entire world.
Add the United States again because of its system of justice involving plea bargaining (which is judicial blackmail and extortion) and unnecessarily lengthy pre-trial detentions. This might be the American way of doing things but it's an appalling infringement of human rights compared to holding a full court trial.
The United States is far better with regards to human rights than most of the countries Tequila has mentioned which are still on the UNHRC. In fact, I would much rather the United States stayed on because at least they counter the bloc voting of those countries which is consistently a vote in the wrong direction with regards to human rights, just to serve their own interests. Plus, the vast majority resolutions created by that lot is against Israel, while human rights abuses anywhere else get's far less attention, this by the way is to take attention away from themselves in order to cover their own asses.

Or China, the ally of North Korea.

What a crock of s**t. Why should the majority of resolutions focus around Israel but there has not even been a single resolution against Zimbabwe or Iran or ,for that matter, a lot of other countries that have had far worse human rights abuses than Israel have also not received any resolutions against them from the UNHRC. Look, I'm not saying that Israel shouldn't be called out if they do break internal law but the function of UNHRC is supposed to be to focus on human rights issues wherever they occur in the world, not spend a disproportionate amount of time on a single country.
Oh, by the way. Your comparison of Israel to Nazi Gemrany is hyperbole.

If the shoe fits. It was Russia and China that have vetoed resolutions against Zimbabwe and Iran. The same way the US does resolutions against Israel. The US, Russia, and China all need to GTFO of it. Then everything would be fine.
