I learned this just now ( its 9 hours earlier here on the eastcoast of the USA then the posting time shown on this post).

The actress agreed to fly to the Kremlin to meet with the Russian head of state.

In return Putin agreed to NATO demands for a redo of the recent Crimea vote -but with UN supervision to keep the decision (about whether Crimea leaves Ukraine for Russia or not) clean.

This was the result of Putin's recent admission that he invaded the Crimea "in order to impress Jody Foster" his longtime American cinematic idol.

I dunno. Maybe Jody Foster can talk some sense into Putin, and get concessions from him that the professional diplomats can't.

She could be a female Dennis Rodman maybe. But, I dunno. I think the Russian people should consider impeaching Putin for losing his mind!

Is this a good development, or bad trend?

What do you think?

I, for one, am so relieved to hear this news.
Finally, someone with common sense to end all this warfare.

The Russian People are in no position to legally remove Putin from office prior to the next election in which he stand. Putin is a thug and he will rig any election in which he runs.

I think it's an April Fool. The last guy who tried to impress Jodie Foster was Mark Chapman and we all know what happened there!

Bingo!

In the Eighties you could attribute any rash act on the World scene to a desire to "impress Jody Foster" and it would get a laugh. But nowadays even older folks are starting to forget the reference.

But coincidently there is a real newsflash I just saw on the web that Putin announced that he's divorcing of his wife of thirty years. His personal life rarely is even heard about. Maybe she is leaving him because he really is obsessed with...Jody Foster!

Lol!
