While someone has already done this thread, I think it's worth mentioning again. I think many of us in WP have had similar experiences to Susan's, with her growing up and being called "Suzie Simple," despite having an above average IQ. And like her, I understand how she knew her childhood diagnosis was in error - her's with brain damage, mine with ADHD hyperactivity - because no one yet had the diagnosis of Asperger's available at the time. I'm happy that there are Aspies like her who can provide invaluable examples as role models as she has done.
But Meryl Streep playing her in a movie? Maybe, but I should thing there are gifted plus sized actresses out there who could pull off the role.

I was not diagnosed until I was 70. It was very useful. My pain finally got a name.
