I honestly don't know what it is with Fort Hood and violence. From what I understand, there may be 2 shooters but one was taken into custody.

I would think of all places where shootings shouldn't occur, a fort is one of them, specifically this one. Maybe it's not as tightly locked down as other ones around the country?

I think the military has to come up with better methods of treating the mentally ill, PTSD and brain injury. They should be vigilant because their personnel have access to and are trained to use multiple weapons.

The shooter didn't happen to be an adherent of the Religion of Peace this time.

Another Breivik, perhaps?

The media is blaming drugs this time. They're saying he was high on 'Ambien'.

dirty little open secret, is that the army is routinely drugging its soldiers, pepping 'em up during the mission/day and calming 'em back down at downtime/night.

People have drove around when they were asleep on Ambien. Not saying that's what happened here.I believe stimulants are given in the military at times,to keep people operating expensive equipment awake.

Well, not to belittle the deaths and injuries, but thankfully no one's going to blame Asperger's this time.

But the shooter here was never in any active combat, at least that what all the reports say.

Probably a bad thing that I'm becoming more apathetic toward these shootings. Is it just me or do they feel less like a tragedy and more like a first world problem?
