Ok, so I don't know if anyone here has really posted anything about this one yet, but here ya go anyway: Reaching My Autistic Son Through Disney

My parents just recently showed me this story on a CNN news report, and I don't blame them for showing this to me because, well, I can actually see myself a little bit in this kid.

I also have my own fair share of character obsessions, some of which that do share some similar quirks with me personality wise.

For example, I'm hasty and impatient just like Grovyle from PMD2, childish like Lampy from the Brave Little Toaster, and socially awkward like Scott from Total Drama.

Sorry for adding that, but I just wanted to help illustrate my point.

Anyway, I did find this story to be very interesting.

So, what do you guys think?

I can understand what you are getting at. I think a lot of adults here do that on some level. I expect many people here see themselves in Sheldon from TBBT and other shows. I can see myself in the show Monk.

Twilight Sparkle.

Which makes me wonder what Lauren Faust's mother is like, since she's who the character is based on.

I can very much understand this. I often have communicated via anime quotes and music lyrics when I am at a loss. When I need someone I have my own characters though... Characters from MMOs or roleplaying games of sorts.

I've been drawing and making my own cartoons ever since I was a kid, and I find I'm a little like all of them to some degree, which is both good and bad. Some characters are happy-go-lucky, playful, curious, and just enjoy life, which is based on how I was in early childhood. Some characters are quieter, more conservative, and appear "normal" but are like a different person when they enjoy their hobbies and talents, which is kind of like how I am now. Some female characters are independent, feminist-types who are not afraid to speak their mind, and sometimes have a hot temper, which is quite a bit like me, and other characters are meek, timid, have delicate health or worry a lot about their health, and are basically "wimps". Pretty much my weaker traits in a nutshell. And the really odd thing is that most of these characters are "humanized" funny animals or fantasy creatures. But that's mainly because humanoid cartoons are quite boring. :)
