Misslizard must have been buying more beer, because Pennsylvania has just legalized gay marriage!
(Sorry if you're not in on the inside joke.)

Let's hope they leave it that way.

I'm all for states' rights. As long as they don't trample human rights.

I'm all for conservatives having a voice. Hell, I'm pretty conservative myself.

But not when that voice muzzles someone else's.

They can go right on teaching their kids that "Gay and God don't mix." They can go right on howling about abominable sin in church (I will just probably almost certainly not be there). This is America; I may hate what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

But I hope they leave the law, the human institution under which ALL must be equal if ANY are to be safe, alone now that it's been set right.

Actually, our ban was struck down and is currently in the appeals process.

My bet is on either Alabama, Tennessee, or Mississippi.

Pennsylvania governor Tom Corbett has announced that he will not be appealing the ruling. The state's attorney-general had already decided not to defend the ban, so it looks like same-sex marriage is there to stay in Pennsylvania.

Interestingly, the governor says that while SSM goes against his beliefs, he thinks that it's extremely unlikely that the ban on SSM will be reinstated on appeal. Given the huge momentum in federal courts across the US over the last year in favour of SSM, I think it'll be legalised nationwide within a year or two. Congratulations if (or when) it does happen ? it'll be a big day.

Nope. Can't get it at a convenience store, either. You have to go to a distributor and it has to be a whole case. Or just live closer to Ohio or W.Va and go get it there.
