:D

Gore’s mansion, [20-room, eight-bathroom] located in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville, consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year, according to the Nashville Electric Service (NES).

In his documentary, the former Vice President calls on Americans to conserve energy by reducing electricity consumption at home.

The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Department of Energy. In 2006, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 kWh—more than 20 times the national average.

Last August alone, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh—guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average American family uses in an entire year. As a result of his energy consumption, Gore’s average monthly electric bill topped $1,359.

Since the release of An Inconvenient Truth, Gore’s energy consumption has increased from an average of 16,200 kWh per month in 2005, to 18,400 kWh per month in 2006.

Gore’s extravagant energy use does not stop at his electric bill. Natural gas bills for Gore’s mansion and guest house averaged $1,080 per month last year.

I heard that he said Global Warming is a MORAL Issue, not a POLITICAL one.

Therefore, for doubting him, you're IMMORAL ! !!

I think you miss the point. If the poor live in the dark and cold, the real people can continue their lifestyle, and over all, less energy will be used, which has nothing to do with Global Warming. Being rich is comparitive, an upper middle class takes away the glory, it is much cooler to ride in your armored limo through streets filled with starving homeless people.

"In the land of the blind, the one eyed is King!"

In post Katrina New Orleans, utilities have increased 400% because there are less people. With a city half the size, we pay four times as much, because of Global Warming.

Taxes must be raised, because of Global Warming.

Al Gore is doing everything he can to steal the future for his class, because of Global Warming.

The Don says why are you stealing Global Warming from his friend Mr. Gore?

Move along! Let the Proper Authorities maintain their hold on Global Warming.

Al Gore needs all of that energy to maintain his enemies list, which you just made.

He is class spokesperson for climate, you went to the wrong school, if any, and are not a member of "The Club."

All Gore stands for change, if that is what it takes to keep everything the same!

Yeah a lot of Liberals are pure bred hypocrites

Take a look at Michael Moore.

He whines that the Bush family and Bin Laden both have money in Carlyle group, failing to mention that the Bush family pulled money out of Carlyle when they found out Bin Laden has money in that.

But guess who has money in Carlyle? Michael Moore does.

So lemme get this straight Michael Moore, anyone who has money in Carlyle is evil unless it is you and your fellow Democrats like George Soros who also has Money in the Carlyle group.

According to Michael Moore people who have or had money in Haliburton like Dick Cheney are evil.

Unless you're Michael Moore who has money in Haliburton himself.

It's like gee according to the Democrats, when you become one of them you have the robe of Holiness and you are so Holy that it is ok for you to do things that you tell others are evil.

The Democrats are just like the Phiarisees that Jesus spoke about, which was failing to practice whatcha preach.

The Phiarisees wanted Jesus nailed to the cross because Jesus exposed their hypocrisy.

Likewise the Democrats would kill Ann Coulter if they could because she exposes their hypocrisy too.

Democrats call Republicans racist but if that is the case then how do they explain the fact they failed to disown Robert Byrd for his past KKK association but Republicans wanted to keep David Duke a former Klansman off the GOP ballot in the 1992 Republican Primaries, not to mention the GOP expelled Pat Buchannan for some of his radical views on Jews.

What even stuns me too is the fact a lot of Jews are Democrats when the GOP has done more for Jewish causes than the Democrats.

Heck the Democrats wrongfully dumped Joe Liebermann for being Conservative on Defense inspite of the fact he has agreed with Democrats more than Republicans for years on a lot of things and is still supporting the Democrats inspite of now being an Independent although he has threatened to support the GOP (and I have no doubt he will probably do it, heck i've been waiting to see him switch to GOP anyways).

I'm wondering if Gore can be so stupid as not to know that? Of course he must. So why does he let it go on? I'm guessing here. Maybe because if you don't operate at that level, you won't be accepted as a politician in Washington? Or get re-elected at all? And if that happened, he wouldn't be working on the environment at all.

I want those windmills and solar panels to be mass-produced and come down in price. I'm hoping Gore can make that happen. Then I could control my own energy use.

Pity Al Gore's boring too. I'll find out his point of view on a different issue, someday...

While I agree that no one needs a 10000 square foot house, that monthly bill also includes $432 spent extra for solar or other renewable energy sources rather than coal.

Well, it also depends on how many maids/servants he has living there. If he's got like 20 people living in there, then eh, not too bad.

/Still looks bad for him though.
//Still not convinced about his documentary
///That is all

Heh, read a quote in Nye Bevan's biography from Jennie Lee about their home life. She basically said they were Socialists on the outside but Conservatives on the inside, i.e. they could be excused from living lavishly while pleading the plight of the working man without shame.

EDIT: I actually respect Nye Bevan as a politician. He's turning in his grave RIGHT NOW over the state of the NHS. His wife was merely taking this stance from an intellectual point of view - unlike most hypocrites who will just point blank deny anything.

I had to look him up on wikipedia, foreign politics aren't my thing, there's more than enough domestic crap to sort through. Anyway it's hardly without president, look at how the Soviet leadership lived all while claiming they were just like everyone else.

Oi. More Liberal bashing. When exactly did the word Liberal become a four letter word?

To the original poster, does this mean you'll stop associating Gore with the environmental movement because it's just serving his own agenda?

I swear, you people would probably call Ghandi a wimp.

I'd like to think (wish/dream) that one could have a debate/discussion/wrestling match on energy consumption without making it a Liberal/Conservative bashfest. I think Algore and Michaelmoore can take the heat without dragging the Democrat party into it. I'm a diehard Democrat but I didn't vote for Algore because he's an idiot and has never represented me or my ideals. I'm one of those scapegoats that gets blamed for Dubya being in office. But I don't care because at least we know who and what Dubya is.
The inconvenient truth is that Global Warming, like anything else, has been commodified to serve jackasses like Gore and Moore.

I don't really care. Anyone who can't see that the needs of a politician are different than the regular person is stupid. This is espcially true in this country where you need millions of dollars just to get your name on the ballot.
