Just heard it on CNN that Joan Rivers has passed away.

Sad.

I remember her only from Spaceballs.

She was only not long ago ripping into people, now she gets the last laugh because where they were disliking her the social conventions will force them to make big u-turns with their thinking. Just think of all the people that will have said she should hurry up and die only very recently. And then she does! She delighted in f*****g with people, she would be pleased to be messing with people this one last time.

Personally I always liked her. She said some amusingly offensive things. Sad to see her go but like I said, she's probably glad to have been messing with people right up to the end.

Spooky, I was was just thinking about her this morning and wondering if she had died recently. The only things I know about Joan Rivers is from impersonations of her that I saw on comedy skits or Tiny Toons.

She was a tremendous talent. She was at her best as the center square in the 1980s incarnation of the Hollywood Squares hosted by John Davidson. RIP to a wonderful talent.

It had been in the news that she was in the hospital for the last ten days or so. In and out of a comma. Seeing this thread was the first time that I heard that isnt coming out of the coma this time. Sad, but not unexpected.

I remember her from the Johnny Carson show. He helped her start her career, then when she got a chat show he never spoke to her again.

Carson did seem to hold grudges.

wonder if the doc's office she shuffled off her mortal coil at, is somehow at fault.

I liked her in Z Rock.

roughly 3 years ago she expressed a premonition that it was closer to her time, she told her daughter that she had a good life.
