OMG, this video was so funny and showed this common police practice to be so ridiculous! Basically, what's on trial is not you, but your property, and you must prove your property innocent in order to get it back (i.e. they don't have to charge you with anything or sue you or anything like that). There are cases with names like United States v. Eight Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($8850) in United States Currency and other hilarious names like that.

I think that this taking of money by the police is deeply wrong, if they want to take the ill gotten gains of a criminal then I think that the state needs to bring a criminal or civil case against a person rather than just taking it. I only wish the RICO act could be used on the people doing this type of highway robbery.
