Mother wounded.

The youngest was only 18 months old according to the BBC. I can stomach everything, except when small children are involved. What a terrible tragedy.

The mother did it.

I have to say, I never thought a women would do one of the worst massacres [with a direct weapon] in Oz's history. The world has turned upside down.

Obviously, we need better knife-control laws.

Hell, you don't need knives to prepare food or eat such, so I expect a knife buyback scheme and registration for those with a real reason to own one. In the interest of my safety.

This will happen, right? Right?

We Aussies have just recovered from a siege in Sydney that results in two civilians getting killed. Now we have this story splashed on the evening news.

The mother in question was addicted to the drug "ice" or methamphetamine. She was having a fight with her eldest daughter and unfortunately triggered an episode resulting in her losing complete control of her executive function. Ice has resulted in people becoming extremely aggressive before, this is rather horrible that the mother killed her own children.

No one is calling for knives to be banned (that I can find).

If she wasted the kiddies with a handgun you can bet they'd be on the block.
