Public defender arrested for advising her client

Her charge would be "resisting arrest." Apparently, advising one's client and letting him know things like he doesn't have to answer questions or sit for cell phone pictures is now "resisting arrest."

Police Officer "I am arresting you for resisting arrest!"
Lawyer "OK" *puts hands behind back*

I wonder if he knew he was being filmed. She can now sue for wrongful arrest.

Does anyone agree that reasons for people being arrested are increasing in ridiculousness these days?

^^Yeah. If the lawyer in the video had offered the slightest resistance to being arrested for resisting arrest, she could have been paneled with the additional charge of "assaulting an officer".

It's just to shut people up long enough to make something legitimate stick, police are known for doing that, and have for years, unfortunately.
