Between August and December 2014 there was a spike in children presenting with numbness and paralysis in California. They were diagnosed with enterovirus: EV-D68 and acute flaccid myelitis (AFM). Cause is unknown. Parents are comparing DNA. CDC says they may be underdiagnosing this because criteria is not broad enough.
