Ok so I have been keeping up somewhat on the news via more independent sites than mainstream news networks...but really what in the hell is going on lately? We got all this ISIS madness, on top of that all kinds of social issues are coming out, people are getting angry over a number of reasons and want to do something about it....I mean if a freaking war started in this country I would not be suprised so what the hell is up....too long a full moon? or something deeper, I mean seriously look around you...how stable are things really? ask yourself this, observe, see to it your rights are not being violated. I feel it is important people start getting on guard, I feel bad things are too come and I've never been wrong before about feelings such as I have now. So as delusional as this could sound, I say be ready, build an aresenol of weapons because winter is coming, in the game of thrones sense but think more modern day....that is what is ahead is my analysis.

Either way I do not see thing going up from here, but maybe I am wrong....hard to ignore all the evidence pointing to me being right however.

It's a crazy world for sure, but I don't think it's coming to an end anytime soon. There is a lot of positive things going on too. I think it is important to not only focus on the negatives. Try balancing it out by seeking something positive as a counterweight when you've seen or read something terrible.

Social media just makes the whingers and whiners seem more pronounced. They've always been there.

Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.

It is almost as if it is all intentional.

I find it easier to believe the world has already ended and that this is the aftermath of the Apocalypse ... maybe the Mayans were right and we just didn't notice...
But really, the world has always had crazy stuff happening.

Cheer up. Most of the people telling us things in news media old and new are cretins or apparatchiks.

Vague thread is vague.

I think the Op is a parody, but it is characteristic of how a lot of people seem to feel. I don't think that people living in an era where the life expectancy is 85 should be worried all the time. It's the best time in history to be alive for most things.

Well of course the entire world is not going to come to an end anytime soon, just seems like in a lot of ways things are going downhill.

We don't learn from our mistakes and eventually the chickens come home to roost, no I don't see thing changing for the better as things haven't gotten bad enough for people to wake up and educate themselves. They are ruled by fear and have the memory of a goldfish on top of an endless barrage of misinformation and propaganda, the elites know what they're doing. It's all a game to them and they know all the moves to make, they tell us to jump and we jump and they tell us "x is the biggest threat to this country" and we fear and beg them to save us from it. We're dependent and can't imagine a world where we are truly free.

I try not to think about it like that too often, what point is there getting worked up over something that you can't control? My life is all that I have so even knowing and believing what I believe there is no point in being scared for the future of the world when personally have my own life to worry about. I'll roll with the punches and be there to tell everyone I told you so when this **** comes to pass.

We lack a big evil as first it was the nazi, then soviets and now we only have small time conflicts with islamic terrorist. Thus, we turn inwards since we don't fear the commies anymore. So, we start going after each other and questioning our fellow members of society. As Nietzsche says:

"Do I advise you to neighbour-love? Rather do I advise you to neighbour-flight and to furthest love!
Higher than love to your neighbour is love to the furthest and future ones; higher still than love to men, is love to things and phantoms.
The phantom that runneth on before thee, my brother, is fairer than thou; why dost thou not give unto it thy flesh and thy bones? But thou fearest, and runnest unto thy neighbour."

Indeed it is, which tells you a whole lot about the past, but still. Things are getting better in general.

In the words of the teacher, recorded in a famous, ancient book:
"What has been is what will be,
and what has been done is what will be done;
there is nothing new under the sun."

Or, as Cicero put in 2,000 years ago, "O tempora! O mores!"

Or, if latin isn't your thing and you like more recent sources, there is Marvin Gaye's version:
