Article: "How Psychic Stole Millions From Timber Heir"

You too can become wealthy as a 'psychic'! Just follow the example of Rachel Lee!

I should have added a "[sarcasm]" qualifier to my comments in the previous post.

The article clearly illustrates that the "Psychic Con-Game" can easily get out of control when the 'psychic' gets too greedy and then loses all regard for discretion. Most 'psychics' (of the ones that I personally know) will have a large number of regular clients that they fleece in small amounts - all perfectly legal, of course. That "For Entertainment Purposes Only" sign and the business license together seem to absolve them of all blame and should put their clients in a "Caveat Emptor" frame of mind.

But clients want to believe that their 'psychic friend' really cares, and that he or she really has their better interests at heart. Having been a 'psychic', I can honestly relate from personal experience and direct observation that sincerity can easily be faked, and that if a 'psychic' appears to be sincerely concerned about his or her clients' well-being, then the motivation is more likely avarice than affection.

("Caveat Emptor" ~~ "Beware Buyer")

T.P. Barnum once observed: "There's a sucker born every minute."

I used to work for a company called psychological assessment. My daughter's friend thought I worked for psychic assessment. That sounded like a more interesting job to me.

There's a huge community of psychics 40 miles northwest of me called Cassadaga.

Excellent quote. I think he said that during his "monkey mermaid" years.

The "Southern Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp" was declared a U.S. Historic District in 1991. The Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp is a federal tax-exempt Church currently governed by a Board of Trustees.

Not only are they running the Psychic Con Game successfully, but they're doing it as a religious group, so they don't have to pay federal income taxes!

You gotta admire them for their audacity!
