(clicky)a sneaky new way of rigging the vote that leaves no trace, invented by a felon
the Global Election Management System does away with "one person/one vote" by allowing each vote to be divided into fractions. according to Bev Harris at BlackBoxVoting.org, “Instead of ‘1’ the vote is allowed to be 1/2, or 1+7/8, or any other value that is not a whole number. Our testing [of GEMS] shows that one vote can be counted 25 times, another only one one-thousandth of a time, effectively converting some votes to zero.” regardless of the actual vote count, vote proportions can, ahead of time, be divvied among the various candidates to be voted on, i.e. candidate A can get 44%, candidate B can get 51%, candidate C gets the rest. according to Bev Harris, “All evidence that [rigged] fractional values ever existed [in the GEMS system] can be removed instantly even from the underlying database using a setting in the GEMS data tables, in which case even instructing GEMS to show the [rigged] decimals will fail to reveal they were used.”

this IMHO amounts to a perfect crime that will deep-six even the mere pretense of representative democracy we still have.

Paper ballots are still the most effective way to prevent vote fraud, though hardly the most efficient in terms of counting. My own preferred fast-counting method would be to give voters brand new pennies to use in voting. Counting them is a simple matter of weighing them and if there is any doubt, just chuck them in one of those bank coin counters.

That's actually a good idea, as long as they are matched up against the number of votes so there are no cheating by using heavy to cheat or giving lightweight coins to select voting groups, which would have the same effect described in the article.

I like doing headcounts. Everyone is given a small plushie or action figure of all the candidates on the ballot at the polling station. You cut the heads off all the candidate figures you don't want in a large paper cutter. Then you throw everything in a collection barrel. Only dolls with heads are counted.

and too many [a critical mass] of americans are too concerned about other ephemeral things to save their own representative democracy.
