Believe it or not, Wall Street has sued the U.S. Government over the 2008 bailouts on the grounds they were not properly compensated.

AIG's former CEO Hank Greenberg and other shareholders of AIG are suing the U.S. Government for minimum of $23 Billion in compensation for their lost profits resulting in the federal bailout of AIG.
Though he took the company cap in hand to Capitol Hill, pleading for government intervention
The Federal Judge is supposed to rule any day now.

The former shareholders of Freddie Mac and Fannie May (Both are Federal Chartered companies) are suing the U.S. Government claiming the conservatorship and profit sweep was unconstitutional because they didn't pay the shareholders the market rate and deprived them of billions in profits.

When it is all done and said with the U.S. Taxpayers could be on the hook for another hundred billion or more.

When the next Wall St. financial crisis occurs, ( You can be most assured that it will happen in the future, considering the fact that Wall St. financiers are basically doing the same thing) the US Gov should just leave it to it's own affairs to die. --However when that happens, I wouldn't be surprised if what's left over from Wall. St. files a lawsuit against the US Gov. for not doing anything.

where are the guillotine men when you need them? granted, sociopaths generally don't respond to punishment or any kind of "or else" scare tactic, but just the satisfaction of seeing some of those sociopathic heads on pikes with their thousand dollar haircuts all mussed, is priceless.

a philosopher recently dared to resort to cynicism regarding the large number of refugees that have drowned in the mediterranean this year alone, trying to get to europe, by saying: "proof that the system works".

I'd like reuse that phrase here, and reiterate: it's THE logical consequence, and any bank that does NOT sue has a disadvantage in competition.

I said it before: Gentlemen, ignite your pitchforks.
And elect Bernie sanders. When he's president, someone will give him a comb, so his hair really shouldn't be an issue.

Evil is a strong word. It implies intention.
But no, it's merely one that has for the last century worked in putting taxes on innate and evil human traits, greed and competitiveness.
Big Government is designed to act as Robin Hood.

We just forgot that we need to keep taxing greed and competitiveness, otherwise the whole system doesn't make sense. We forgot about that over the last 30 years. End of history, Fukuyama and all.

it can be said that poorly governed "evil human traits" can make the whole system an evil one, microcosm into macrocosm.

hard to argue with that. They say the road to hell is paved with good intentions-
just to clarify: I'm all up for trying something new, just because: well, it's something new, and this system has proven to not work for everyone not owning a private jet right now.

the sheer chutzpah [couldn't think of a stronger word] of these bloodsucking capitalists to even THINK of doing something as coldblooded as this, is beyond my comprehension. this belongs in the encyclopedia [showing my age] under the heading of chutzpah. it is the same kind of gall as murdering one's parents and then crying "ORPHAN!"

Whoa there scout. Elon Musk is a Capitalist and he develops and invents new stuff. His company may eventually develop that battery that makes solar and wind power totally practical.
