This idiot 911 operator has blood on his hands, thanks to his a-hole attitude.

If that state has laws for Depraved Indifference, then he should at the very least be charged with that.

Perhaps the idiot thought of it as just another 911 prank call that many are so used to hearing about.

Why he had the ability to hang up in the first place should be investigated, most jurisdictions don't allow the operators to hang up afaik.

The caller shouldn't have swore down the phone especially since the operator had her friends life in their hands...

Be grateful if someone who has more power is helping you

Of course...
The operator doesn't care. They take many many calls a day. If you are rude what do you expect

There was just no reason for him to react that way. She was clearly stressed out and the anger wasn't directed to him, she was just really caught up in the shock of seeing a person dying in front of her. And yet did he take it as being to him? I don't get what caused him to react like that, shouldn't it be basic knowledge people don't think of feelings when, you know, their main focus is trying to keep someone dying alive? What she said to the caller was far from unreasonable. Just seemed like what a normal call would be like.

Btw an ambulance WAS immediately sent. The operator is needed to take more calls anyways and not stay on the line being of no use

I don't think we even got to hear the WHOLE exchange from start to stop which we would need in order to have an informed opinion on this. The media is notorious for giving us just enough to get the overly emotional all worked up and wrapped around the axle then forming imaginary lynch mobs in thier pre-pubescent little minds.

I would want:
- To hear the entire uninterrupted exchange between the dispatcher and the caller
- Know if there had been a recent surge of prank 911 calls
- Know the characteristics of and have examples of recent 911 prank calls
- Know if that dispatcher had a record of mishandled calls
- Other related details

THEN ponder it.

He had difficulty breathing. Operators give out medical advice and talk you through checking for any blockages in the throat and how to give CPR and that kind of thing. Or how to stop the bleeding. They give you instructions until the ambulance turns up at the house and those instructions save people's lives.
