This hurricane is a threat to the Bahamas, Bermuda, and the US east coast. Complicated situation with many factors a trough over the application a blocking high in the atlantic, tropical system Ida. The European computer model forecasts it to go out to sea, most other models have it hitting the mid Atlantic region over the weekend or early next week. All predictions are subject to changes. The storm intensified much more and quicker then predicted.

Even if Joaquin misses, the region will receive flooding rains on and off through the weekend

most computer models now forecasting the hurricane to make landfall in the caraolinas although the model that forecast Sandy correctly 7 days out is still forecasting it to go out to sea. Would not be surprised to see more model mayhem. High Wind watch up to southern New Jersey.

Hurricane rapidly intensified to a catagory 3 but some real reason to hope on the US east coast. As mentioned in the computer model that forecasted Sandy (Europeean) way in advance has been consistantly forecasting it to go out to sea. The other models are trending rapidity in that direction. They are not there yet and actualy have it hitting or coming near New Jersey to New England. As mentioned there are numourous atmospheric factors in play and as the old saying goes Mother Nature does what it wants when it wants. So for those of you from the mid Atlantic on north keep on preparing and hope these preparations are nothing more then a practice run.

Hurricane strengthened to a catagory 4 and is devastating parts of the Bahamas. The threat to the US east coast has practically ended with the exception of possible indirect impacts in Southeast New England.

Parts of the east coast will be effected by a nor'easter seperate from Joaquin with epic rains in the carolinas coastal flooding and some power outages from the carolinas to the New England coast.
