There is a new app that lets users rate the people they know.

Obviously, this idea has significant downsides. On the other hand, this whole thing might just be an effort to make more people recognize as a problem the similar apps such as those which let users rate sexual partners, or let students vilify their teachers.

5's have lives.
4's have chores.
3's have fleas.
2's have blues
And 1's don't get a rhyme because they're garbage.

This is one of the times I am glad that I'm not socially enabled.

This can only end badly.
Cyberbullying is already a big problem, but with this thing? if 10 of your class "mates" rate you 1 star every time, good luck getting above a 2 average, and good luck getting hired/romanced/whatevertheyusethisratingon'd with that kind of score.

There is nothing you can do against low ratings, and they stay on for a year. Yeah, you can "try to work it out in 48 hours", but a bully simply won't change the rating...
I rate this app at about the same level as Trump's candidacy for president: a funny joke, but time to stop it.
