Read the article and replace "arab" with "jew".
Then imagine someone posting it here and imagine the consequences.
The jews would cry in unison to have the thread deleted.
But it's perfectly fine the other way around, isn't it?
Ugh... WTH.
No one is saying that his rantings are "perfectly fine and he's right about Arabs". He's a bloody ISIS Jihadi for crying out loud. It's just amusing (and not in an anti-Arab way) and ironic that a would-be mass murderer would complain about things as banal as "manners" or "cruelty to animals" (apparently, it's perfectly fine to be cruel to human beings, though).
Alright, let's take your sentence and change it so it applies to jews instead of arabs:
"He's a bloody Chabad Lubavitcher for crying out loud. It's just amusing (and not in an anti-semitic way)"
I could list some not so nice things the Lubavitcher rebbe said about gentiles. But just quoting what jews themselves say is considered "anti-semitism" while slamming the arabs all day here is perfectly acceptable.
Slamming the Arabs is not acceptable. Noting the incongruity in a Brit going off to fight for the cause and then hating the reality of the culture he finds there is not the same thing as "slamming the Arabs.
If you wanted to make it Jewish and Israeli, you would have to have something like a Brooklyn born far right radical Zionist inspired by Kahane emigrating to Israel to support the Kach party, only to discover that he really can't stand Israeli culture. (Which would be funny, too)
Mocking the Indian subcontinent in general, on the other hand, or Pakistanis in particular, or Arabs is flirting with a rules violation.
