Stop, for a moment, to imagine how scary the world would be if you actually believed this nonsense. It would be like living in the zombie apocalypse.
Years ago when I was working, my cube was right next to the cube of a lady who was a rapture christian. Her husband was a rapture pastor. I didn't know what the rapture was until I'd worked with her for a few weeks. Anyway, whenever I didn't have my headphones on I'd hear her no matter what she'd be doing in her cube. She'd call her husband at lunch and they'd have these bizarre conversations about the rapture. When I first started working there I thought she was talking about having a family member over and how she couldn't wait for him to get there and whatnot. They were hoping he get there before the end of the day, but maybe he might get there tomorrow. Naturally I assumed they meant a real person.
After I'd been there a few days I heard her say that the person coming was Jesus, and that they would all have a white horse to ride on when he got there. WHAT? Headphones back on. Some of these people are not playing around. They no sh** believe in this crazy stuff.
Just to point out, zombies and the apocalypse actually *are* key elements of their belief system...
Also, I think some ot their earliest had an auditory processing disorder, as it's not actually "rapture"...
