What an egotistical IDIOT... shutting down a major highway and inconveniencing other people all to pull his stupid and dangerous stunt. What if someone had been injured or killed when his "friends" and "relatives" suddenly and abruptly halted on all 4 lanes, stopping the traffic ?

This is plain selfish, traffic is bad enough as it is and he decides to hold I-45 up so he can propose? That's a big ••••-you to everyone driving behind him. At least charges were filed against the mastermind; I think he should spend the next few rush hours cleaning up the side of the road.

They should all lose their driver's licenses for that BS. :x It reminds me of those idiots in California who shut down freeways with their sideshow crap. Wouldn't it be fun if everybody just shut down a freeway when ever they feel like it. People seem to just keep getting more self-centered all the time.

I agree with the above, charge all of the people involved not just the idiot who organised it.

Completely self indulgent crap.

Reckless endangerment FTW. Foolish, to put it mildly.

Seems like it wasn't so much shut down, as blocked by the inconsiderate with their vehicles. I thought the article was going to say the highway was officially shut down for the proposal or something.

They probably caused plenty of congestion, and everybody hates traffic congestion. Also sounds dangerous they could have gotten themselves or other people maimed or killed that way...hopefully the guy isn't in the habit of dragging others into life-threatening activities or his wife may wanna be extra careful about what sorts of activities she agrees to do with him.

They should not be allowed to reproduce!

Inconsiderate a**hole. It's bad enough to have to drive in rush hour traffic and s**t like this only compounds the situation. Never a cop around when you actually NEED one, either. :x

They are no less selfish than the rest of the Houston drivers (Yes Houston is known for bad and selfish drivers).

It is oddly romantic though.

As romantic as self-aggrandizing narcissism can get, aye ?

I hope that his "friends" and "relatives" who actually helped him pull off this life- and limb-threatening stunts are also charged. At best, they are inconsiderate, narcissistic jerks. At worst, they are accessories to a misdemeanor. No reason why any of them should get away with it (and that includes that girlfriend who boasted about her own self-importance on Instagram).

All romance meets that definition.

Every act of romance is selfish and inconsiderate to others at the very least.

It would not have been inconsiderate if he proposed at a nice park or maybe on top of a building with a good view you know anywhere that isn't inconveniencing people like the middle of traffic.

I'm not trolling.

The act of romance is done to "Win the heart" of the person you are interested in.
It is done with full selfish intent, in order to better one's self.

It's not done to be nice or kind, it is done to benefit the person who is doing said act.

The act of romance also causes an unintended change in the schedule, which disrupts those who interact and/or have connection with the people involved in the act itself.
These people would normally be doing other activities, most of which are planned including work.

Romance is not selfless, nor is it considerate of others.

It would be equally as inconsiderate to those who planned on using the park, or was at the park at the time of the act.
Same goes for anywhere else.

It would only be considerate to others if you were given their permission to disrupt their plans.
