It's not an uncommon gimmick in red states, plus licensed carriers are more law abiding (and accurate) than the police, so it's like free security, a win-win.

There's far too many areas in the world (pretty much all of them), that wouldn't understand this at all.

It could get nasty if Texans get bad BBQ.lol I think they used to hang people if the sauce was bad.

Texas BBQ is actually noted for it's lack of sauce, they mostly prefer dry rubs, and even then it's often just salt and pepper.

I'm not a Yankee,no way could I ever mix the two up :D .I make my own BBQ sauce,East Arkansas style.Its a thin spicy sauce.

Is this the stuff that looked kinda like Sweet & Sour sauce with black pepper in it that I had at a BBQ place in West Memphis many years ago?

/\Very possible.There are variations,but basically it's the following ingredients.Its not sweet but tangy.
2tsp Worcestershire sauce
2tsp chili powder,to to taste
1tsp salt
1tsp paprika,or more
1/2 tsp red pepper
1/2 black pepper
2tblsp vinegar
1/2 c water
Add to a shaker bottle,shake well.
This is enough for two or three sandwiches.The sauce is usually kept in the shaker and used at will.
People change proportions to taste,I usually add more red pepper.

Although I've openly pledged online and in public to NEVER own or carry a gun, I think I prefer "open carry" over "concealed" permits. At least that way I would know who possesses what.
