According to "NBC Nightly News": he died in his sleep at his daughter's home, in New Jersey; he was 94.

I liked him in "Barney Miller", too----R.I.P.

Ninety-four is a good run. He was an exceptional actor! I'll always remember his best as Tessio in the Godfather.

The big guy upstairs must be planning one hell of a show with all the celebrities we've lost recently. Abe will make a nice addition to it I'm sure.

I remember watching Barney Miller back when it originally aired on tv. Fish was my favorite character on the show.
