That would be Democrat mayor Catherine Pugh. Notoriously corrupt Baltimore, like many other notoriously corrupt cities, hasn't had a Republican in city hall for decades.

Federal law enforcement agents fanned out Thursday across Baltimore, raiding City Hall, the home of embattled Mayor Catherine Pugh and several other locations as the investigation into the mayor’s business dealings widened.

Dave Fitz, an FBI spokesman, confirmed agents from the Baltimore FBI office and the Washington IRS office were executing search warrants at those locations Thursday morning, as well as at least three other addresses associated with Pugh. It was the first confirmation that federal authorities, as well as state officials, were investigating the mayor’s activities.

What! are you telling me there politicians in the democratic party who are corrupt to? not just republicans.

So I guess you're in favor of the IRS investigating politicians all of a sudden?

I do seem to hear more about how corrupt republicans are as opposed to democrats being the pious saviors of humanity.

I don't think there's been any objections to the IRS investigating and auditing politicians. The objection has been against it becoming mandatory for politicians to release personal tax records to the public. It seems pretty obvious that the IRS does go after politicians when they uncover wrongdoing, so there's no reason to take tax records out of their jurisdiction.

So the reason Baltimore's corrupt Democrat mayor is still in office is that she's not lucid enough to decide to resign.

Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh is sick and not “lucid” enough to decide whether to resign over a federal investigation into shady sales of a children’s book she authored, her lawyer said Thursday.

The embattled Democrat was at her house during an FBI and IRS raid on the property earlier Thursday and met with a doctor there, said her attorney Steve Silverman.

An earlier report from local outlet WJZ quoted sources saying Pugh had skipped town. But her lawyer — whose office was also raided by the feds — said he met with her for an hour at her Ashburton house, according to The Baltimore Sun.

“She understands the predicament of the city… she just needs to be physically and mentally sound and lucid enough to make decisions,” Silverman said.
