Nancy Reagan, an Influential and Stylish First Lady, Dies at 94

Her husband used to say "Never speak ill of another Rupublican". Oh how times have changed

I wondered if the focus on Reagan's presidency at this time would affect the republican candidates at this time and their civility.

I can see the potential for this to become a troll fest.

I'm sure she was a lovely lady and it's sad that she has passed.

Her legacy to me is "Just Say No." And I cannot forget how much damage that did to individuals and society.

Sorry for the unkindness. But that's how I feel.

She wasn't my idea of a pizza-partner but I have to admit that Nancy Reagan accomplished mountains of love and loyalty to her husband. That , I think, was her basic drive and she never faltered. A courageous and strong woman, admirable for her virtues.

The rest we can leave for next week.

She lived a full, happy life.

Perhaps she will be best remembered in her change of opinion on stem cell research, when her husband had developed Alzheimer's. Love and scientific enlightenment are a rare but noble legacy.

upon arrival in the white house, she set the modern right-wing tone when she said "no more riffraff in the white house!" in response to president carter's habit of inviting common working-class folk into the white house. that statement of hers always stuck in my craw, it hurt like a slap in my face. but out of respect for her children I will not speak ill of her, RIP.

Yeah, I remember that too. Everyone has their good and bad qualities; she was clearly devoted to Ronnie. I only mention the "crusade" because it had a big political impact.

very understandable :thumright: she partially made up for her "riffraff" statement by persuading her husband to at least acknowledge AIDs as a problem [even if he actually did nothing about it].

IMO, first ladies and the rest of any president's family should only be occasionally seen but not heard.

I have nothing bad to say about her. I would ask a favor of her though, kick Ron in the junk for me! Sadly they won't be going to the same place so she won't be able to, ah well. R.I.P. Nancy

So how is "Just Say No" damaging to individuals trying to overcome drug addiction?
