Quote:
German train operator introduces women-only train carriages

A German train company has said it will introduce train carriages which are just for women and children.

Regiobahn will begin its experiment on the 50-mile line which runs between the cities of Leipzig and Chemnitz in the east of the country, in order to increase security for female travellers. The special carriage will be situated between the service's two quiet carriages, and next to the train's conductor. In a statement, Regiobahn said that "the proximity to the customer service representative is chosen deliberately".

Parts of the right-wing press are suggesting that this decision has been taken in response to reports of sex attacks by migrants in the German city of Cologne over the New Year celebrations. The operator has insisted that its plans are not a direct reaction to the Cologne incidents, but about increasing security for women in general.

I think this is not a good development personally, and I think we will see a lot more of this. Women are slowly being relegated back to the shadows.

It is true that Japan has long had women only carriages too, but as far as I know this is unprecedented in the West (edit: not quite true; we used to have them in Britain but they were made illegal under sex discrimination laws).

At first glance I liked the idea. Men can be overly-sociable. But it's "women and children" - no way! Not in a million years.

We as a society have fought to outlaw discrimination, for all people to be equal... and now it's back again.

I want a society that is totally equal - so, no segregated seating in public meetings, no segregated train carriages, no segregated shopping malls. I want men, women and children to mix freely. I want women to feel safe and to be able to call on justice whenever they are attacked. I want no-one to be scared - of men not to be scared of women, women not to be scared of men, adults not to be scared of children, children not be scared of adults.

That's so silly. Don't they know that women and children strap bombs to themselves?

There's an elephant in the room somewhere. I haven't seen it.

Oh goody, just like Saudi Arabia. I suppose that from now on when German women are assaulted or harassed on trains, it will be their own fault for tempting men by riding in the same train car?

Germany is just adapting to the great replacement migration.

This could all have been avoided had the Germans (and the EU) took a saner course of action with regard to 'migrants'. The insane immigration policy of the last 20 years has much to answer for, particularly with regards to poor Sweden.

If the German government is anything like America's, it's controlled by and represents corporations. Corporations like a nice stream of cheap labor. Refugees who don't speak the local language and are desperate for work fit that bill nicely.

I don't know if this is necessarily true of the refugees coming to Europe. A lot of them seem more interested in the social welfare benefits on offer in these countries.

Most are from other Arab, African countries and even Afghanistan and Pakistan. A lot of them have paid quite tidy sums of money to people traffickers in order to get in Europe. Only a small minority (say, 20%) are actually from Syria.

Good, women have been fighting for this even in the U.S.

Women keep complaining about how bad the male passengers treat them.
Women keep complaining about how the transit companies force them to sit and tolerate male passengers, which endangers their kids while traveling.
Women complain the companies don't do enough to protect them from male behavior while traveling.

This is just another step in demanded by women as part of the feminist movement.

The 25,000 immigrants to Canada were pre-approved by our Immigrations Dept., whose representatives went overseas to where the refugees were. Each refugee has a family, a sponsor, or a church etc. to receive them and fit them into Canada. At least, that's what Justin Trudeau said on the radio.

May I ask where you got your facts?

No problem. The EU did a survey on migrants last year (http://blogs.spectator.co.uk/2016/01/he ... ding-into/).

And the Swedish government has recently rejected 80,000 asylum applications from "Syrian" refugees. We all know that these people are going nowhere. There would be a civil war if Sweden tried to deport them.

The Canadian government may be checking these people properly, but Europe certainly isn't. The vast majority are not refugees, but economic/welfare migrants with fake passports who have crossed Europe to get to their favoured country. If their asylum application is refused, they rarely get kicked out of the country. They can disappear.

NYC enacted an new law last summer that bans "manspreading" on public transportation and trains.
The law states men who sit with too much distance and/or sits anyway that offends women and minors is a crime.
You will literally be arrested and charged for it via the NYPD.
It's been enacted in Australia and other places too.

Many men have been arrested in NYC over it since last summer engaging in legal battles to overturn the law.
Though women are waging the battle in the media and social media to keep the law in place and pushing for tightening the law to crack down on male behavoir.

I'm requesting a source for the statement that women in America want gender-segregated train cars.
Your argument that some women object to manspreading does not demonstrate that.
