First case now seen in Texas passed through sex.

And the next Olympics are going to be held in Brazil, where there have been a number of cases. Should have stuck with Chicago.

It reminds me of the great film Children of Men.

This could all just be yet more media sensationalism, just like West Nile Virus, SARS, Ebola, Avian flu, Swine flu, Flu Flu, kind of a cold, kind of a flu, and flesh-eating bacteria. Most people who get the Zika virus will suffer a fever, rash and joint aches, and that's it.

Or maybe it's the earth's way of desperately trying to reduce overpopulation. The earth itself is alive, you know. That's why it can support life, just like every other living thing has creepy-crawlies all over and in its body, including humans. If the creepy-crawlies make the body sick, it tries to get rid of them by purging itself and making its bodily fluids rush out everywhere. Humans are the earth's disease, and it is trying as hard as it can to purge itself before it's completely destroyed. And with the climate change and terrorists and nukes we're doomed, anyway.

ZIKA now a problem for adults. I'm never leaving my condo again. Did I tell you that I'm a hypochondriac? You think nursing is the wrong job for me?

I'm not a hypochondriac. But this does scare me. Not because I think that I'll get it. I'm just worried that it's going to be a much larger problem that's not confined to only a few countries.

Yeah, mosquitoes like me, too. I have no idea why, but often I get bitten like 20 times when I'm with a group of people, and no one else gets bitten. I think I had read something about certain people being more attractive to mosquitoes because of components in the blood that they can smell. I can't wear bug spray, either. The smell will make me ill.

This seems to be the latest in a long string of things that seems to imply that nature is a scary thing to be feared. We've seen it with Mosquito borne Equine Encephelitis, Lyme Disease, Hantavirus, West Nile, etc.

I really am not scared of this, and find it to be the lesser of evils when given the alternatives of being cooped up in a house all day afraid of nature, or having to deal with people and their inconsistancies on a day to day basis. --Do what you will, but I find the gamble of dealing with dangers of the natural environment to be more consistant and survivable that the gamble of dealing with human beings and their inherant pitfalls , and being cooped up is not an option to be considered.
