The results were successful in getting almost 100,000 comments on DMCA abuse, but here's the bad news.

"cyber attack" and "misinformation"...no comment.

Now the RIAA is fighting fire with fire hoping to make sure what gets taken down from sites by DMCA is removed permanently. Apparently, we're the bad guys for voicing our opinions, doing Let's Plays, demonstrations, reviews, being a fan, etc.

The industry spokespeople then go on to say that everyone should feel sorry for them because the internet was used effectively to bring attention to the issue.

DMCA takedowns have no due process. No paper trail, no court proceedings. That alone should be enough to prohibit them in their current form. However, ever since the Citizens United decision it has been clear that Corporate Persons have more Free Speech (read: money to spend on lobbying) than individual citizens (aka Human Persons, also known as "civilians" to law enforcement).
