Today a tanker ship got beached on the shores of Liberia not far from the capital of Monrovia.

The crew was missing. The ship was slightly vandalized, and was missing a lifeboat. Thats all they know.

The Tamara 1 was bound for Dakar in Senegal, but didnt make it. Ended up hundreds of miles from its destination.

Kind of a 21st Century version of the Mary Celeste ( the famous sailing ship that was found adrift in the Atlantic with no crew aboard in the 1800's).

Pirates?

Or maybe space aliens spirited them away!

There is just something that is so alluring about ghost ships! Here's a link to a report on the case with some pictures.

The article mentions that "12 ghost ships have been found off the coast of Japan" in like the last year. Some with rotting bodies aboard. And that they are believed to be "North Korean fishing vessels". Wow.

Built in 1980...makes me wonder if it was cheaper to scuttle it than to keep it afloat at some point? Sorta like these:
