Whine Whine whine...
YouTube is YouTube and Alphabet/Google has a lot to lose if they hurt media outlets and the music industry by changing the automatic copyright system.
The minute they change the copyright rules to YouTube, Alphabet/Google will be hauled into National Court in every country it is exists by media and music companies and sued out of existence.

I expected support for fair use, but you're part of the problem. I made a mistake giving up and thinking we can't change a damn thing, but I eventually realized that we have to keep fighting these unfair and unjust industries, otherwise, we'll lose a lot more than just fair use laws. I can't let that happen.

It's not fair use.
Fair Use is a very narrow definition, which does not apply to YouTube and other video upload sites.
The current form of YouTube and it's automatic copyright system was born out of lawsuits in the U.S., Canada, UK, EU and Japan over the illegal use of copyrighted material.
YouTube and it's users lost.
Many users make money on YouTube by violating copyrights and IP laws on YouTube by claiming "fair use".
This is why companies are after YouTube.

Not fair use, huh? What about reviews and parodies that get taken down? What about 30 seconds out of a full song that still got taken down? What about frauds claiming ownership to stuff that isn't theirs for the sake of ad revenue or just having it removed for pleasure? What about Let's Plays? Most video game publishers like their games being exploited in videos even though other industries say no. What about the fact that you missed the point how a video made in 2009 about a glitch in a video game from the 1980s getting taken down by Fox because they used the exact footage of the video in a recent Family Guy episode? The video was restored eventually, but this still pisses me off about how this still happened in the first place.

Reviewers tend to make money off their review videos.
Let's Play videos used to be accepted until it was found out that the people behind Let's Play making millions of U.S. dollars each year.
Let's Play videos are now a big issue due to all the money they are making off of the gaming industry.
The RIAA have an agreement to with Google to take down any unauthorized music, even if it is only a few seconds.
Hell if you use a set of words that are in a song in your video, even indie bands will take issue for "using" their lyrics even if it is common words.
If you hate YouTube so much, then go to the competitor Comcast who is just launching their video upload service.
Amazon is even launching a competitor to YouTube this year.
You do understand Google loses hundreds of millions a year operating YouTube while still being sued by companies who claim their products and content are being used for profit without their approval.
Some even claim that YouTube is costing the economy billions a year in copyright infringement.

The reason why YouTube is crap because they're trying to follow the different copyright laws and fair use laws (if any; I know Japan doesn't have them) of every country at once. I use Zippcast. It's not perfect, but I'm doing better there than I did on YouTube and I've been there for a year and a half now. There's no automated system and fair use guidelines follow U.S. law. If a website is based in the U.S., it must follow U.S. law and copyright lawsuits handled in a U.S. court. If a foreign company has a problem with copyrighted material, they must handle it manually.
