Trump is by far the best foreign policy candidate, Trump understands the importance of personal diplomacy unlike Obama who can't stop himself from apologizing for America and bows so low he can touch his toes to royals he has no business bowing too. Kim Jong-Un is a desperate man, give him and his country an out without humiliating them and maybe progress can be made. We cannot force change on North Korea, maybe China can but the US can't strong arm them since their entire national psyche is built against that. Diplomacy is the answer, not war or sanctions!

from the article:

Quote:
"A one-on-one with Donald Trump I don't think is going to solve the problem," Richardson told CNN, adding later, that Trump's plan is "not going to work, that's not diplomacy, that's reality TV."

IDK maybe that is the future of world politics and Trump is onto something.

Hillary’s emails have indicated that husband Bill, with the Clinton Foundation, sought permission from the State Department for a paid speaking engagement in North Korea in 2015, while she was secretary of state. But Trump hints at a dialogue and he is deemed a demagogue by Hillary? The hypocrisy is palpable.

Irrelevant, I'm talking about trump. Most of the world is terrefied about trump being president.

Most of the world wants a weak stupid USA who gives away all its wealth and does the bidding of the globalists, there are so many people eating a free lunch because of us and it has to end. Our "allies" are not going anywhere and we don't need to worry about those relationships so rather we should focus diplomatic efforts on our so called 'enemies'.

Weak leaders like David Cameron, Francois Hollande, and Angela Merkel will to capitulate with their criticism once the election is over and they have to face reality. Europe seems poised to elect populist leaders in the coming years as well who will be eager to work with President Trump. There needs to be some geostratetic realignment anyways, Russia and the west need each other and that is the most important bilateral relationship for the United States in the world in my opinion and I have said this for some years now. If we can change our relationship with Russia, then we can change our relationship with South America where the anti-American socialist left is dying out. Many of these foreign leaders are already backtracking on their potshots they took at Trump now that he has secured the Republican nomination, they'll be changing their tune so fast after he wins in November it will make your head spin.

The US should start looking at the world as place of many Great Powers instead of thinking we're the only ones in the charge

Is his theory that he will scare Kim so much that unlike in every time in the past the regime will not voilate the agreement?

Kim would be desperate for any type of gesture that he could use to give himself legitimacy to his people not to mention his well publicized obsession with American entertainment, remember how they rolled out the red carpet for Dennis Rodman? A ball signed by Michael Jordan given by Madeline Albright is housed in museum among their greatest gifts they've received from foreign leader. Meeting sitting the US president would be the most momentous moment in North Korean history.

The reality is that North Korea is a nuclear weapons state and I don't think even China is happy about that but North Korea has dug it's military in defensively for 60 years and even with antiquated equipment they could overwhelm the South with missiles and artillery along with a million troops who have been preparing to invade the South forever. North Korea is a state that we do not understand, we have this idea that is ran by this complete madman but is that the truth? Diplomacy I think could be a powerful tool with a leader like Kim Jong-Un, it is worth a shot trying to reach this man as he was western educated and is similar to his father in his love of basketball and culture of the west. This idea that we can isolate and just put the country under siege essentially as we have and basically starve them out I think is foolish and doesn't punish the leaders but the people. Millions died from famine in the 90s which was completely preventable, what might seem like a meaningless token gesture could mean the world in terms of our relationship with the country. Sitting back and doing nothing doesn't seem like a good NK policy, I think we can do better than the status quo and if it doesn't work then it was at least worth a shot. To mention it again North Korea is a nuclear weapons state, it has the delivery system and it could nuke it's immediate neighbors(at least until Russia rolls out it's new S-500 air defense system, which is another reason making peace with Russia is imperative since this new system could essentially make themselves impervious to ICBM strikes allowed them to survive a first strike)

Brinkmanship with North Korea is not something I am interest with, we have to take them seriously even if we accept the reality that they're an nuclear weapons state because if we starve them out and place economically crippling sanctions then what is the one thing they can sell?

Diplomacy shouldn't be a dirty word, it should be exhausted before all else.

Well, since Mr. Obama has met with President Trần Đại Quang, the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the why shouldn't Mr. Trump be allowed to meet with Kim Jong-Un, the Supreme Leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea?

I mean, if the United States of America is going to cozy up with its enemies, then why not go all out?
