What other candidates were against the Iraq War, NAFTA, and drew a hard line on immigration? It has nothing to do with marketing, Trump spoke to the heart of the base of the party which the national party was so out of line with.

I am not a fan in general [his party], but for the sake of this country I hope somebody persuades him to get more sleep at least.

it is not that he has never said disquieting things [such as referring to 9/11 as happening on 7/11, for instance]. he has provided ammunition to all the warriors as well as all the worriers out there.

Trump is on record supporting Iraq, as it was dug up by Fox News and the GOP.
He was pro NAFTA back when it was completed and made bank off of it.

He can't be taken seriously on immigration because his company(s) all hire tons of illegal immigrants for cheap labor.

Though to be fair the Conservatives in the U.S. House are refusing to fund Border Patrol, ICE, and Homeland Security.
Hell last year they literally only passed a last minute funding of all 3, forcing Obama to sign it into law at 11:59PM, one minute before shutdown.
This year they are planning to succeed this year when the money runs out in a few weeks.

Obama Administration has deported 2.3 Million people in as of January 1st.
George Bush deported 2 Million over his term, which is more than his dad did.

More people would be tried and deported, if there was more judges, more ICE workers and more Border Patrol agents.
The whole system is backlogged due to it being underfunded and understaffed.

Why is it this way?

George Bush went to the GOP majority held congress 3 TIMES to get more money to hire more immigration judges, more ICE workers and more border patrol.
But the GOP rejected it each time claiming he had to get border secured first.
They only funded the wall.

The Democrats gave a boost in funding to immigration officials but it wasn't enough and they didn't have the votes to override a filibuster in 2009.

The GOP in 2010 and to present have frozen the budget for immigration officials and have banned the hiring of new staff and judges because of Obama.

The federal government is literally banned from hiring immigration officials until the current law is changed (2010).

The GOP might allow the hiring to resume, once Obama is out of office, but I don't see that happening.

Also sources are claiming the GOP are planning to ram rod the Trans Pacific Partnership through Congress if they lose the November election.
This is perfectly legal to pass treaty and trade deal during a lame duck session.

Obama already signed the TPP, he just needs to formally sign the enacting legislation.

Under the Trade Authority Act passed last year, the law bans senators from filibustering the vote and gives Congress 90 days review it before voting.
It mandates that Congress must pass it by 2/3rd votes of both houses for it to become law.

Trump would sign it, if it made him profits.
He said he would review the deal before he made his final decision.

Clinton promised not to sign it and is on record opposing it as are most Democrats.

Speaker Ryan and Senate Majority Leader McConnell have promised to pass TPP into law over the "liberal opposition".
The real conservatives aka Freedom Caucus aka Tea Party want it done, because it will be the greatest victory for capitalism and democracy.

As they if you don't support TPP, then you don't support capitalism and the USA, letting China win!

You don't want the TPP to fail and China to win and become the sole superpower, do you?
