I thought this was interesting, because it deals with the persuasive use of language.

Interesting.

According to the number crunchers the two fringe candidates are opposite in one way.

Trump talks to us like we are forth graders.

Bernie Sanders talks to us like we have gotten as far as the tenth grade!

Each of the others hit us at various grade levels in between.

Trump is very good at drawing you in then telling you absolutely nothing at all while making you think that you're hearing something meaningful.

I posted this in another thread but it would seem to apply here as well. Trump uses something called Enthymeme in his speaking: http://in.reuters.com/article/usa-elect ... NKCN0VP1AM

At least he sounds better than the rest of the GOP.

It could be worse, he could speak like Rubio.

Or he could be like Mr. Aw in the White House and think he's just so damn important he doesn't have to answer any questions.

Politicians never give answers or results

What does Rubio stand for? What does Hillary stand for? What are their detailed plans on whatever, it's stupid. These people want you to think they're a lot smarter and qualified than anyone else for the job but they're a bunch of empty suits owned by the special interests. Name one accomplishment that Marco Rubio has other than being a sort of good looking young Cuban guy from Florida, it's ridiculous that we have this do nothing 1st term senator that barely shows up half the time supposedly be the only media approved GOP candidate. They want us to lose people, don't be stupid! Mitt Romney was a loser, John McCain was a loser, stop listening to media on who to vote for! They're not thinking about your best interest but rather their bottom line, look who these media companies are subsidiaries of and it all makes sense. Always follow the money, we are being ripped off and gutted from the inside out in this country and we can't allow this to continue happening.

Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, and Hillary Clinton are all lawyers turned politicians not even executives; professional liars who have never created a job or had to make any consequential decision on their own. What are any of these people's qualifications and why should we trust any of them? These people are owned by the globalists, they are giving our country away!

We known what Hillary is for, since she has been towing the same beliefs and lines for 20+ years.

Maybe she will finally give us Hillarycare.

That is the biggest criticism against her, especially from the GOP.

Rubio is being forced to do what the party leaders and donors want, if he wants to continue his campaign.
That's why he is stumbling over himself.

I'm going to speak as both a retired Air Force officer and as former Defense Department investigator. Concerning Hillarycare, part of the reason why that was shot down was the same reason Obamacare should have gone down in flames. That is, at least when I testified before a senate subcommittee, that the fraud controls were inadequate. And indeed, with both medicare and tricare alone that is still the case. In 1992, my biggest case involved some $72.4 billion in medical fraud. There were at the time, 115 investigators on this one issue throughout the country. The average case was worth $440 million, with the average investigator having 64 cases on his or her desk at any given time. This was all for Tricare - what was then CHAMPUS (Civilian Health and Medical Program for the Uniformed Services. Now, multiply 64 x 115 x $440 million and give the answer. This is why we're in debt. To control the fraud we would need to double the current government payroll. The best solution therefore is to simply rid ourselves of these programs.
Concerning the presidential candidates, I despise them all. They all lie. I find incredibly amusing that the torrential flow of illogic only gets worse over time in that there are people gullible enough to believe these liars. And none of them are qualified. In the days of the Roman Republic - which lasted for longer than our own, a public official was required to spend half of his life in the military - no exceptions. The Romans knew that no one was more likely to start a war than a civilian - which is the case. History will bear me out that civilian politicians and diplomats have started more wars than military men. They are not only not trained on how to win a war, but on how to prevent one. For example, when a civilian diplomat draws the borders of a given country - it's a line - that's it. An officer is trained to ask the question, "Okay, where can we draw the line such the topographical features of the land can be used defensively by either side to cost the invader so much that it would deter them from attacking in the first place?" Military people are much more disciplined and far less naive than civilians as cost - whether human or otherwise is always considered. And any official who has the power to vote for or declare a war should know what one is like - thus the requirement for military service. Where our president/commander-in-chief is concerned, as well as senators and representatives, there should be a requirement of holding at least field rank (major to colonel) with at least 12 years of active service. Now, you of course have Caesar and Crassus. But it took several hundred more years to occur than it did for the advent of Emperor Oh-blah-blah. And the Roman officer, like Cincinnatus, more often than not, layed down his command as quickly as possible once the crisis passed.

This is syllogism, because the audience is supplying a premise.

To use an example from Renaissance art -- espuma. It means smoke. Many people perceive masterful details, which don't actually exist in a painting, intentionally blurred. One wonders what restorationists may have added.

I think of the tiger from the Life of Pi and the safes from Inception. It's possible that many words and figures of speech are empty, when you don't imagine the nuance.

Some NT's have no higher purpose in mind, besides to learn your secrets or steal your ideas.

Trump is a racist, sexist and just all around evil person. He needs to stop lying and stop changing his mind all the time, period. Plus let's not forget that his planned policies are very flawed and usually change depending on the day of week or who he is talking to...

He is now accepting money from donors for his campaign (even though before he used his own money). I realize people running rely on donors, but this is simply another case of Trump changing his mind.

It's very likely most people wont even care. His supporters seem blind to anything bad he does. I'm still hoping something catches up to him and he has to drop out.

When I read comments, to the effect of Trump using unpredictability, as a coping strategy, I thought it might actually be useful. Maybe, I could borrow that.

Google → “how to be unpredictable” → I mostly found pick-up artists (PUA's).

The resemblance of Trump's campaign promises to being a jerk, on dates, was mildly humorous, from looking prestigious to making her earn it.

I think we're being groomed.

We're making judgments about Trump's character, not asking where he learned to be this way.

He was apparently liberal, on many issues, then flip-flopped.

He might just be mirroring the stereotypical, American public -- in other words, saying what most people want to hear, at any given moment -- or just letting you imagine things about him.

It's not really an example of executive function, because he's being like a chameleon.

Huh? I've heard the President answer questions during every press conference.

I'm sure the African American and female vice presidents, and there are a few in the corporations that Trump owns, would find your racist and sexist accusations to be both amusing and illogical.

Trump says that he's made compromises, with the mob and with bankruptcy. Was his willingness to deal with quota cases another compromise, perhaps to get federal subsidies. Are these minority members in a secure position, considering campaign promises, which will make them look conspicuous, anywhere they go.
