The press conference is on right now with the police.

Omar is an American born citizen, born in NY, to American parents.

Since he is an American born citizen, the shooting is currently classified as a mass shooting regardless of what he claimed at the last minutes.

He was not under investigation as he was cleared each time the FBI investigated him because of the lack of credible evidence.

Hate Speech from American citizens is protected under the first amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
Since he didn't break any laws, the FBI and law enforcement could not do anything.
Lots of people make threats and hate speech in this country against other citizens.

Since he had no criminal or medical record, he was able to legally buy the guns he used.

No, while the shooter is of the Muslim faith, he's also American born.

People seem to forget Christian Conservatives are just as violent as Muslim extremist are these days.
Christian Conservatives hate LGBT people, disabled, and others they disagree with as much as ISIS and other Muslim extremist do.

Christian Conservatives regularly attack and kill LGBT,disabled people, and minorities but it rarely gets reported on.

Hell they spent the 90s bombing doctor offices, LGBT places, abortion clinics etc...
Christian Conservatives also still regularly attack and kill LGBT people to this day, including turning up at LGBT events.

If we tallied all those who claim to be Christian Conservatives, who shoot and kill people in the U.S. it would easily be greater than the amount of people who are shot and killed by Muslims in this country.
Though Christianity and Atheism aren't listed in the files by law enforcement.

I'm not so sure about that bit----everything I've read / heard about them, said they were Afghans.

Gun Rights activist claim this guy did this attack to force Gun Control.

The mosque he worshiped issued a heartfelt statement denouncing the shooting.

The father issued a statement claiming he was shocked to learn what his son did and claim he son was upset after seeing two men kiss.

His ex-wife had reported him to the police for domestic abuse and for being mentally unstable, which ended the brief marriage.

But in the end the police didn't have the legal authority to do anything.

The FBI cleared it up stating the medical records claim he was an American born citizen as was his parents.

There has been Afghans in this country for over a hundred years.

Furthermore, the fact that the shooter only pledged allegiance to ISIS during the attack (just like the San Bernardino shooting) could suggest that this was a home-grown terrorist attack and not a coordinated ISIS cell...

Conversely, the 2015 Charlie Hebdo Attack was a genuine Al-Qaeda cell, where the perpetrators (the Kouachi brothers) had been trained by Al-Qaeda prior to the attack...

Both ISIS and Al-Qaeda have encouraged this kind of improvised and loosely affiliated attack, likely due to their increasing inability to plan and carry out sophisticated terrorist attacks in Western countries...

If what the neighbor and ex-wife said are true, then the shooter was mentally unstable.

i don't see why they are still allowed to exist.

it has nothing to do with allowance - the IS just do exist.

IS was created when the U.S. under Bush II dissolved the Iraqi military and U.S. sided with the Shia PM Nouri al-Maliki, who used the Iraqi government to suppress and cleanse Iraq of Sunnis.

for 6 years the U.S. let him commit crimes on his own people because they were Sunnis, until Obama made him go.

It was too late and Sunnis rose up and sided with the group that would become ISIS.
