Trump is on record stating the California and Western drought is made up by the government with no unbiased facts to support it.

He has promised to open the water for everyone in CA, if he become president.

Because of an 18 month El Nino? News Flash to Mr. Trump: it would appear we are now quickly heading into a La Nina, which may well mean a drought even worse than the one we just experienced. See, as a lifelong CA resident I've learned that the correlation between ocean temperature and rainfall is solid. But more than that, there are records going back much further than my experience and they've been gone and the link tested over and over by many people.

The man is dangerously science illiterate. No, worse; he purposely counters whatever scientists say because he knows it will make him popular with his base. Who, by the way seem quite often to say they'll vote for him because, "he's funny".

Technicality between drought ( like past 3 years of short rainfall and heavier usage than ever before) and water shortage. And he reads things like this: http://watchdog.org/238991/californias- ... de-crisis/

Trump is a businessman not a scientist... and he is an arrogant guy that doens't believe there is not some way to "fixit". It's not like adding Mexico as the water tables were teetering was smart of Obama who had time to get a research team first.
And Bush forcing the unfair compact renegotiation supporting BLM suggestion wasn't exactly showing is science strengths

I even remember some time back when Northern Cali was seriously proposing to secede from Southern after during the last drought and power shortages in early 90s I think? Late 80s? Science proved back then that So Cal was literally sucking the state dry with their abusive use. SF and the North wanted to dam up and control water flow. They wanted to in the late 50s with 6 counties making the movement. And the one now. Meanwhile Arizona , Nevada, Utah & Co were forced to re-sign the water treaty when the Colorado Compact expired. 2007 BLM wrote up NEW standard that was not friendly to states with first rights before Cali like Nevada or Utah. If Lake mead drops too low Both Nevada and Arizona get shorter shares but Cali no lowering at all, FU Cali! I hope this summer the new state of Jefferson emerges

And in 2012 with little media watchdogging , Mexico was added to a brand new International Treaty to receive the "surpluses". And if you think they will d use the sliding scale as set forth? HA! California makes huge impact (58%) on Lake Mead. Vegas and Laughlin and other border state cities recycle the reclaimed rain back to the lake, Cali lets their rain runoff go to the sea. Because their special endangered animals are more important than people and delicate ecosystems in deserts which also are full of rare specialized animals and fish.
Lake Oroville is pretty much history. Shasta, is no where near its former beauty. Walker Lake? Buh-bye! Mono Lake? history. Tulare? Toodles Folsom Reservoir? RIP State Govt didn't even mandate a cut in consumption ( a mere 25%) til some were gone! These are all manmade so susceptible to nature wiping them even more. I remember when they made Silverwood lake and covered the town in the valley there by the springs. We lived in Hesperia then

Who needs "unbiased facts"!??!?!?!?!

If Mr. Trump says it then it MUST be so!

What's the matter with you?

If Trump says that there is no California drought, and that Global warming is a Chinese government hoax, and that Obama was born on Planet X, and that the sky is orange, then its all true.

Trump and reality are not on good terms, I'm afraid. If we elect this guy the systematic "dumbing down" of Americans will proven to be great success.

This is just a way of "getting back" at his enemies. He knows he isn't going to get CA's electoral votes in the main election.

There are a lot of environmental regulations that are really hurting California farmers, there is a fish called the delta smelt that is endangered and protected by the courts resulting in the loss of access to farms in the Central Valley of California resulting in the losses of thousands of jobs and hundreds of thousands of acres of farmland.

This is the delta smelt

Image

it is a tiny little fish less than 3 inches long that has a 1 year life cycle

They have these water projects in California that pump water from the north of the state(where it rains) to the central farmlands and south of the state and they have been restricted in the amount of water they are able to move because of the protection of this little fish. It is a really contentious issue in California, particularly to farmers in the Central Valley who Trump was speaking too.

Regardless of all that about that fish, that doesn't mean that there isn't a drought in California. Here in Washington, we are having what's referred to as a wet drought. While "wet drought" might seem contradictory, it's a matter of there not being enough snowfall in the mountains during the winter, meaning that there isn't enough runoff when it warms up, reinvigorating streams and rivers we depend on. So much for Trump's global-warming-as-a-Chinese-hoax theory, as we can attest it's very real. And there's no smelt to blame it on.

Reality shows fueled the dumbing down of society, not any political candidate or party.

Ironically, the Apprentice was one of the more tolerable ones for me. Not that I ever watched much of any reality shows.

That's why he is now promising to fix California's water shortage.

i went to our reservoir and formerly lively vacation spot, cachuma, not too long ago.

i stood at one of the cliffs there, not too far from where i cut my knee ten years ago. formerly i would have beheld a sight of much glistening blue water, boats cruising, gentle lapping of the waves on the jagged coast. but then i only saw dessication and misery, dried algae and abandoned fishing boats. i feared for the day when i'd turn on the tap, and nothing would come out. all seemed lost.

i was about to leave, but suddenly i felt a hand on my shoulder. a big, firm hand.

it was donald trump.

his golden locks waving in the breeze, he looked me in the eyes and whispered in a calm, fatherly voice..."the drought's a lie, son".

and as if commanded by god himself, all the lakes vigor and all its energy returned in a matter most spectacular, that had to be seen to believed. clean, fresh water shot out of the cracks in the parched ground, shaking the ground with its sheer force, and it became mud once more. fish came back, the tourists and campers returned to the rejuvenated lake and again there was the buzz of activity, natural and anthropogenic, the jet skis and fisherman's boats raced across the surface, the birds sung their songs...the water level rose and bathed the dry moss again. the drought never happened, all due to his word.

without a word, donald trump got up, and walked away, the sun setting behind him. i'll never forget that day.

[what a deluded twat]
