Quote:
I believe it is far past the time that Sam Brownback and his cronies admit the damage they’ve caused to the people of Kansas and resign in the shame they deserve.

Announcing the move to Missouri is Jeff Blackwood, President and CEO of Pathfinder Health Innovations, focused on the goal to bring transformative healthcare technology to help individuals with autism lead more social lives.

Wingnuts through their Laffer trickle-down policies brought on the departure from Kansas of a valuable enterprise. What Kansas loses, Missouri gains.

I used to think the worst places to live in this country were Mississippi and Texas. Now, Kansas makes that list a big three.

Yeah, Kansas is becoming a libertarian/GOP hellhole, but the people don't seem to mind.

It's really sad and puzzeiing.

It looks like they're making a huge swath of misery going from Kansas to Oklahoma to Texas....

I think we should combine the three and allow/insist that they secede. They could form the United States of Randia...

Kansas, aka Brownbackistan. Even another GOP governor would be an improvement over that guy.

Texas isn't so good now that oil is down, but we did better than most of the country during the Great Recession. Yeah, you hear about the escapades of Greg Abbott and Dan Patrick, but Austin and Houston are very progressive. San Antonio is also good. I am not a big fan of the Metroplex.

Mississippi's economic problems stem from there being virtually no industry, other than tourism in the Gulfport-Biloxi area. I have never been more depressed driving through a city than I was in Jackson, Mississippi (or any Jackson that doesn't have the word Hole following it). Phil Bryant's evangelical zeal doesn't help things either.

Then let me just say, Texas isn't for me. Mississippi and Kansas probably even less so.

Brownback sounds pretty good to me.

He's cutting taxes and putting more money into the hands of people.

He's closing off his state to "refugees" which probably means poor , needy people. They probably have too many of them already.

Cutting taxes on small business will help them flourish.

The tax-users won't be happy, but they'll change their tune when they get jobs in the private sector.

Except that because of his tax cuts schools had to close without finishing the school year because there wasn't enough money left to keep them open. His tax cuts have provided very few jobs.

Teabagger dystopia.

Ideally, he should ween them off of taxes.

His tax cuts likely created many jobs.

However, it's offset with loss of tax-dependent jobs.

It takes time. It's not fair to look at a 1 year period to make such a judgement.

He has to reverse years of tax-dependent jobs, and get those people into the private sector.

Or maybe Kansas will just spiral into the blackness of teabaggerism. Brownback is actually offering a monetary bounty payable to any high school student who turns in any transgender students using the "wrong" bathroom - and this is at a time when the state of Kansas can't even keep their public schools open. Brownback's problem isn't just right wing economic policy, but regressive, bigoted political reactionaryism which is grinding his state into obscurity.

I wanted to comment on this as I have relatives that still live in that state. Kansas is really only downgrading jobs in this game, not gaining them. It is losing qualified individuals to other states due directly to the governor's actions. Here are a few examples:

Construction workers

http://kansas.newshub.us/news/item/06-1 ... n%20nation

Teachers

http://kcur.org/post/evidence-mounts-mo ... ing-kansas

http://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show ... n-relocate

I know some think that teachers are spoiled brats that only work for 9 months to get paid for 12. To those people, I suggest actually try a teaching position and then see how long they would last in it. It is much harder to do properly than it looks. Once you lose the good teachers, it is very hard to get them back. The real losers in this are the students, as their future is at risk.
