I read in my psychology that companies in Japan are trying to get salespeople to smile more when greeting customers. The Japanese people actually have to be taught the actual physical technique of smiling. One of the techniques is to hold a chopstick between the teeth and try to raise the sides of the mouth higher than the chopstick.

I’ve read about this. Orientals have fewer facial muscles and tend not to be put in movie roles that demand lots of acting ability. Keeping ones thoughts and feelings concealed is considered important in their societies. Blowing-up or loosing your cool in an Oriental culture can hurt your reputation.

Or what if they are just weaker from not being used as much?

But how do you know? Should every human have the same amount of facial muscles?
