Asian man almost got railroaded for his self-defense

Basically, Jarred Ha got into an argument with some women and one woman began punching him repeatedly. The first blow landed, but Jarred blocked the other blows causing the woman to fall to the ground. At this point, Jarred walked away, as he was not interested in getting into a fight, but then out of the frat house comes this big burly white dude named Graham Harper yelling to Jarred "you never hit girls" and then running him down and then grabbed Jarred and beat him and took his head and repeatedly smashed his face into a car. Cornered and in fear for his life, Jarred brandished a knife telling Graham to get off of him and Graham was stabbed.

Then come the news media and they demonize Jarred Ha, putting out headlines that Graham Harper had saved those women from the dastardly Asian man, playing up stereotypes of Asian men as misogynistic, weak, cowardly, and ultimately beta male types. Harper was portrayed with a woman in his arms, calling Ha a coward, and glorified as a hero who saved those women (and of course an alpha male), an army reservist, patriot; basically, they lauded him as mighty wh***y.

Harper lied in the report about what happened, but 2 witnesses unconnected to any of them came forth and said that one woman and Harper were the aggressors and Ha was defending himself. This was still not enough for the DA, who tried to railroad Ha and pressure him into accepting a plea deal for a felony. Fortunately, Ha fought the charges and he was acquitted.

Of course, the media doesn't really cover the case at this point, because if mighty wh***y is a lie, then it doesn't sell.

EDIT: Also, Ha was expelled from school in the aftermath, but Harper never was, even after it came out that he was the aggressor and had filed a false report.

I'm sorry Mr. Ha had to go through that obviously racist bullsh*t. Did he ever get back into school?

He was finally readmitted after more than a month after his acquittal, in which the jury didn't just find him not guilty but explicitly found him justified. It took the student government stepping in.

Thank the Lord for the student government.

I'm wondering if the perpetrators i.e. the two girls and Graham were punished?

Also wondering whether the DA needs to go back to law school and do some remedial work on the dangers of relying on subjective bias while avoiding the evidence presented in the case?
