Yeah, and what's the rest of the story?

I see a skip at the beginning, and then it focuses on the individual held against the car. The latter might have a valid reason, or it might not.

Jumping to conclusions and all that.

She was never arrested, despite the police harassment.

She'll be adequately compensated if she pursues such, and the officer will be punished in some way.

Yeah, the bully thugs will be punished alright, with all expense paid vacations at tax payer expense, pats on the backs and promotions, because that is exactly the type of cops the government wants. They want low intelligence bully thugs who will violate people's rights without asking why.

I understand there are jerks in every profession, but most professions don't have the privilege to arrest or detain people. I'd say this is a pretty good example of "damn cops."

The woman is a 32 year old school teacher.

The cop accused her of being a prostitute.

You may as well say, "damn the 3 arms of government", then, as they're all equally as guilty as the cop of having the power; the politicians make the laws they want enforced, the police enforce them, and the courts hand out the punishment.

The BLM chant: the whole system is as guilty as them, is a good example.

Going further, you may as well just say "damn people", as it's the people that decide what laws the politicians make to be enforced and the punishment for the same.

Or, you can go the other way, and just call out the individual jerks that abuse anyone for any reason.

I like the latter personally, as it goes down to the level where individuals are the ones held accountable for bad actions, and you don't punish everyone for the actions of the same (even saying, "damn cops" for the actions of the few, is punishing the innocent in some way).

Blaming the whole for the actions of the few, is what say, the extremist will do.

... which only shows how outlawing prostitution is an excellent form of institutionalized bullying. Had it been legal, the cop would have needed a better excuse to manhandle her than sticking his nose into what she does or does not do with her own body. He'd also be less encouraged to feel entitled to grope or rape her; in fact, he might even fear being charged with harassment, like most mere mortal men do these days.

Accusing her of being a prostitute was just a pretext to hassle her in hopes of finding some other reason to arrest her. Maybe they were hoping they'd find drugs on her, or some such thing. Never do they ever consider the permanent emotional scars that woman will have for the rest of her life being harassed for nothing other than for just being black, and worst, under the accusation of being a street walker.

Then he might as well have forced her to strip naked right there in case she was hiding something somewhere. Just to make sure, he could have probed all her orifices with his sweaty, dusty, unwashed fingers. Hell, why not squeeze her breasts salaciously to make sure she wasn't hiding something inside a silicone implant?

And, if he failed to find anything, he could arrest her for indecent exposure! :idea:

I might be mistaken, but I think a woman was once strip searched in public.
