The New York Times: Colin Powell, in Hacked Email, Calls Trump ‘National Disgrace’

Quote:
An aide to Mr. Powell, a retired general who also served as the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, responded Wednesday morning to an inquiry about the emails: “We are confirming that General Powell has been hacked and that they are his emails. We have no further comment at this time.”

Quote:
“Everything HRC touches she kind of screws up with hubris.”

Quote:
Donald J. Trump ... a “national disgrace” and an “international pariah”

Quote:
“Yup, the whole birther movement was racist,” Mr. Powell wrote in an email to a former aide, according to BuzzFeed. “That’s what the 99% believe. When Trump couldn’t keep that up he said he also wanted to see if the certificate noted that he was a Muslim. As I have said before, ‘What if he was?’ Muslims are born as Americans everyday.”

These leaks are amusing. I wonder who will be hacked next.

I agree with his first two comments (if they are his).

Partially agree on the third. I think some birthers were racist, but some where just anti-muslim which is being against a certain religion, not racist. I also think some were neither and just believed the DNC was trying to pull a fast one. There certainly were enough factors to encourage doubts.

the Powell that emerges in the emails is a sort of everyman—the last rational American, maybe. He hates Donald Trump, finds Hillary Clinton bumbling and foolish, sees the Benghazi scandal as generally a farce, and remains angry about the Iraq War.

The last reasonable man who helped lie us into an illegal war. We shouldn't forget that he was right there with the architects of the Iraq war. Let's stop acting like this is some righteous person.

Basically what that article is saying is that Powell is not as absolutely bat sh*t insane as the rest of the Republicans. And the DNC had every right to bring him into the email discussion because he also had a private computer connected to a private line. He also says he has none of the emails from when he was in office.

http://www.newsweek.com/2016/09/23/geor ... 97373.html

We can also go back to Bush losing 22 million emails and his private server.

"Like Clinton, the Bush White House used a private email server—its was owned by the Republican National Committee. And the Bush administration failed to store its emails, as required by law, and then refused to comply with a congressional subpoena seeking some of those emails. “It’s about as amazing a double standard as you can get,” says Eric Boehlert."

The interesting one to me is where Leeds states to Powell that everyone dislikes Hillary and that they think she'll do her best to remove Obama's legacy.

The latter part has me confused.

I figure Hillary and Obama are pretty close in social policy. Perhaps geopolitical with Iran?

"For good reason she comes across as sleazy."

Quote:
"I think there is something to it. On HD tv she doesn't look good. She is working herself to death," Powell said, adding: "She will turn 70 her first year in office."

Quote:
"could barely climb the podium steps."

They're missing the one I listed above. I figure that's pretty damn important that they think Hillary will dismantle Obama's legacy.

There's also one saying that Bill is still doing the bimbos in his home (Powell also states he doesn't want to vote for her). No idea why Hillary is ok with that (she'd know; it seems like everyone knows).

That Powell Bohemian Grove one is quite illuminating.

The attendees think Trump is a disaster.

As we probably all should know, the Grove is an exclusive Neocon and wealthy elite summer camp. If they're calling Trump a disaster, I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's because he's not "with them" rather than what we attribute to Trump (tactless hothead, for example).

I've always wondered why he didn't run for President himself, I'm sure he would have been welcomed in this election cycle.

Yes, the guy that knowingly lied to the U.N. to get us into an illegal war would be just perfect.

Powell is a Neocon through and though (many of the DNC, including Clinton, are pawns of the same; foreign leaders such as Blair and Howard were too).

They all should be pretty much in jail for life for their crimes [against humanity].

To my oblivious, sjw family members, you're not supposed to say you don't care whether he's a quota case and C student. Just don't bring that up. Never.

This quota case said entertaining things about HRC, which would tend to incriminate her, and cover himself, to his credit.
