Nearly 100,000 New Yorkers sign petition to get rid of Melania Trump Next First Lady wants to keep living in Trump Towers, but other city residents say they do not want her there

This strikes me as being on about the same level as people trying to defund Obama's golf trips.

Or one of Michelle Obama's trips overseas

So she's giving priority to her child's education and the sore losers are having a hissy fit over it. Just when you thought they couldn't get any more pathetic. What's next, they start picketing Barron's school? Wouldn't surprise me one bit.

I don't understand why the NYC taxpayers would have to pay for their protection----the Secret Service is FEDERAL government. I mean, I know the article said that the Secret Service said that there were "special challenges" (or, whatever the term was, that they used), so they'd have to rely on the NYC police department----but then, just hire some more Secret Service agents; that'd reduce the unemployment rate, right there.

Oh, I almost forgot..... To ME, it just added another puzzle piece to the "Barron is Autistic" puzzle that some of us have been working-on, when I heard that they wanted to not take Barron away from his school, until it lets-out for the summer (like, an Autistic person doesn't like routines disrupted, and changes). Now, one could argue that a mother wouldn't want to do that NO MATTER her son's neurology----BUT, in the article it said that the campaign was hard on Barron; why? Again, it, IMO, adds yet another piece to the puzzle, because I'm thinking the campaign was causing disruption to Barron's "usual-ness". The article (as many other things I've read) said that Barron and his mother are very close----so, I'm thinking, if-nothing-else, she's caused him to be a "Momma's Boy", and that can, IMO, nearly RUIN a kid.

The Secret Service is always assigned to the First Lady and children of the President 24/7, no matter whether they're in NY or DC or Bora Bora. Local police get involved, in protecting the areas around Trump tower, because of all the rioters. People riot the area repeatedly and then complain about there being a strong law enforcement presence there. Idiotic.

People seem to be forgetting Trump already saved the taxpayers $399,999 by reducing his POTUS salary to $1.

Unlike in other parts of the country, there have been no riots by the Trump tower. A lot of protests and a few arrests, that has been it. Midtown Manhattan presents unique potential security issues of which rowdy protesters are on the lower end of the scale.

At what point does rowdy protesting and arrests cross the line into being rioting? I mean how far apart are they? I think the bottom line is people are acting like fanatic lunatics.

It is a fine line between rowdy protest, disturbance, and riot but what has gone on by his NYC Trump tower home has not come close to that line. Cursing and blocking the street and being a nuisance/a**holes does not a riot make.

Outside of NYC the only full out anti Trump riots has been in Portland and maybe Oakland. There have been plenty of protests that have been on that fine line, I would describe them as "disturbances"

Agitators, I imagine the biggest reason why protesters behave in Manhattan more than other places is because there is a much pervasive police presence and much less tolerance for disturbances there than they are in places like Portland or Oakland. Blocking traffic is an illegal action not a legitimate protest tactic but by all means go do your chants hold your signs and play hacky-sack or whatever you do when you cross the line into violent disruption then you should be held accountable.

I guess that's why they have to keep these guys there to keep it that way.
