Ouch. I was giving them the benefit of the doubt because I understand how some autistic kids might refuse to eat and tend to be very picky eaters due to sensory but this sounded like outright neglect. Hadn't been to a doctor in 8 years, and the fact they were more concerned about their income than about his health." Too poor to afford doctors, states pay for your child's health insurance if your income is really that low to afford it so what would be their excuse?

My heart goes out to the boy. I hope he finds a good foster home with two Sweet Peas that are willing to take him in.

So let me get this straight they nearly let him die of malnourisment, because they were worried they'd get less money if they used some of their sons disability money on going to the doctor and properly feeding him? And where apprehensive about him becoming the payee at age 18....basically they wanted their suns social security disability money for themselves is what I am gathering.

Glad they got arrested, this is really the worst kind of fraud if your disabled child is collecting disability for their condition that money is to be used on care of that child not on the selfish parents so they can get a new t.v for their room, a nice new car or whatever else they'd rather spend it on than the child and their needs.
