Wow:

Quote:
Interviewee: Barack Obama had a big part of 9/11.

Daily Show: Which part?

Interviewee: Not being around, always on vacation, never in the office.

Daily Show: Why do you think Barack Obama wasn't in the Oval Office on 9/11?

Interviewee: That I don't know. I'd like to get to the bottom of that.

Daily Show (voiceover): Wow! Mind blown!

LOL.

Here's a youtube link, for those who aren't in the States (Comedy Central blocks access to their video clips if you're not in the US):

I don't watch the show since Jon Stewart left, but I enjoyed this clip. Trump supporters don't seem to be the brightest bulbs, and it's kind of uncanny how they can spout these ideas without putting any thought into them at all. I don't think it's stupidity, but rather a mental laziness combined with wilful ignorance.

When I watched that segment, I laughed my a$$ off. Since then, I'm feeling more and more scared at the thought that cretins such as these could put that orangutan haired, bloviating idiot in the White House.

I'm pretty sure Orangutans would take umbridge at the comparison given they are largely compassionate and highly intelligent

Oh, no, I only said that that bloviating idiot has the hair of the noble orangutan.

Please tell me those people are plants, actors, trolls, pretending to be dumb for interview money, anything but real, sincere people.

I can't imagine seeing the like from another English speaking first World country.

Unfortunately no, I don't believe they are. Often the people the most willing to speak in front of a camera are not the brightest, but stupid people who want to get on TV however they can. It's an old gag though, talking to (American) morons on the street for laughs--at least over here it is. In the case of this 2001 (?) CBC special, Rick Mercer (a Canadian comedic journalist) is talking to Americans on college campuses and in cities like New York and San Francisco. To be fair, no one really knows much about Canada, but they should not have so easily believed that we place our senior citizens on northern ice flows once they reach a certain age to dispose of them, or that we have a "national igloo" to preserve.

If you're wondering about Mr. Mercer's accent, he's from the east coast (Newfoundland).

Here in Australia we also have really ignorant people. They don't have to be lower class/poorer uneducated.

Often this ignorance is selective. People are focused on themselves and climbing social ladders the concerning themselves about critical thinking.
