The Families That Launch Their Own Autism Studies Historically, science has scorned single-subject trials, but parents’ at-home experiments with their kids may drive autism research forward.

Can't say I have benefited from antibiotics, other than their ability to search and destroy invasive bacteria. They don't agree with me very well at all, not when I am taking them and not for some time after I stop taking them/

The linked article says that the theory may apply only to a subset of people on the spectrum. Unless work is done to establish the parameters of such a subset, claims like this rest on opinion rather than evidence; to establish parameters large "blind" trials with control groups are needed as well as AS samples. That isn't particularly difficult to do for competent researchers trained in analysis of data, though it can be costly and time consuming. Possibly the unspeakable charity would fund it though, out of their billions?
