Utah governor hopeful says medical pot helps wife, others
If no one broke any laws then nothing would change, how are people to know what they want if they never try things? If no one smoked pot because it was illegal then no one would question its legality. so arguing that people shouldn't use pot because its illegal is a redundancy.
Secondly, people DID NOT vote for to illegalize pot, its was the textile companies and the religious far right winger puritans that wanted it illegalized back during the prohibition era.
And lastly, its scheduling makes it about imposable to get a legit study done on pot, since most government run testing will try and find the faults in its use other then its benefits or that of trying to make the cons worse then the pros of its use.
Government does not want to change its scheduling because its a big government money maker for the police and privet prisons and the courts and the like and also would compete to much with pharmaceutical companies. so its not about if pot is good or bad for people or even if people want it legalized, its about the money and control.

There are those who oppose pot because of the harmful effects of its use. It has been proven in multiple medical studies that the use of marijuana causes damages and impairments in several parts of the brain.
The law against marijuana was passed by the elected government of the united states; as have been most of the laws established in our republic are. The textile industry only had a minor role in supporting a movement that was lead mainly be people genuinely motivated in combating a harmful substance.
How to people know they shouldn't use it? That is because of knowledge of the harmful effects it has had on those who did use it. This an awareness that has backed not only by individual experiences, but medical and social sciences. Furthermore there are multiple foreign countries which have wider studies on the subject, the nation can look to their studies. Of which, multiple studies from the British Medical Association to researchers in Australia, it has been proven time and again that marijuana is a brain damaging narcotic, which damages the parts of the brain related to reasoning, judgement, and inhibition, and which results in increased suicidal behavior, and increased criminal behavior.

The archaic opposition to pot is crumbling. We'll be fully legal in 10 years or less. As we should be. I still can't understand why the law should prohibit my right to grow, burn and inhale a plant. A completely self contained process... I mean, it should be industrialized too, but in it's simplest form that's what we're talking about.
Leave me alone to do what I want.
I know I was suicidal long before I ever touched it. I actually think it prevented me from suicide in my late teens. Not only for it's effects on me, but for providing a desperately needed means for connections with others.
It's a good thing for some, and not for others. People try it and it don't agree with them, dont do it again. Simple.
I'm gonna smoke now! Illegally!! !! ![]()
