Those snake oil salesman deserve to go to prison. They also deserve to see civilly sued out of every last penny they have.

I stand firmly against MMS. However, I'm flipping autistic. And I can't ignore your factual error. It's like a grating on the chalkboard.

MMS is chlorine dioxide. Its a molecule that includes clorine, but that's not bleach.

The stuff you use in the kitchen is sodium hypochlorite.

Chlorine dioxide is a bleaching solution, but its gentle. It's used to bleach flour because its not toxic in small amounts.

What this stuff is is useless snake oil, that, when used in too high doses, can become dangerous. By far, the greater danger is the attitude that a snake oil is going to cure your child's autism, and the cost of the water they are selling, that could better used to pay for services.

I used clorine dioxide in small amounts when it was last popularized 20 years ago. It was harmless. No, it didn't cure what I thought it would cure. (depression and weight gain I think? I was blaming it on candida, if I remember correctly. No, wait - I was trying to cure my cravings for sugar.) The thing is, that the clorine dioxide I used was in a smaller dose than this MMS non-sense is using. So, there's more opportunity for overdose this time around. But again, far greater chance of simply being full of s**t.

It's really the article's error mostly. They WAY over hype what happened. Again - I'm not saying that it's not bad. Just that this is full of wrong facts and saying things like giving your kid MMS is the same as feeding them industrial bleach is not correct. It's more like having them eat a vinegar solution. It's not going to do jack squat for their autism, but it's also not an emergency medical situation.

It wouldn't really matter, if he was selling manna or literal ambrosia.

In business, there is always some nihilist or iconoclast, falling on the floor and saying they were maimed.

So, it is risqué, to mix church and business.

In the fundamentalist, totalitarian sense, to use God's name in vain was a capital offense -- the reason why David killed Goliath.

Yet, in every church foyer and potluck is some Arminian, telling you how to merit grace by participating in some Ponzi scheme.

They go on tv, and say that some indispensable piece of religious counsel is sold in a book or dvd. They have conveyed a blessing or a healing, in some oil, a piece of cloth for you to buy, or some tacky, plastic relic or questionable nutraceutical.

Seriously, what is he selling, here, chlorine dioxide, or pixie dust.

Also, when seculars peddle their chemicals, under the color of authority, what are they selling. Have there never been any recalls (daily) or nepotism? At least, the snake oil salesmen don't force you to participate.
