For the first time I encountered unprecedented and unusual problems trying to google Wrong Planet yesterday. It triggered my virus protection to instantly run a malware scan as well.

Could have been concident, or not.

AspieUtah opened a similar link in the WP forum:

viewtopic.php?f=13&t=331190

I got the same message on repeated occasions.

http://dailycaller.com/2016/10/21/wikil ... er-attack/

This describes that "[m]ajor websites around the United States Friday were victim of a coordinated cyber-attack that WikiLeaks is saying its supporters were behind. It is now telling them to stop because 'you proved your point.'"

It is possible that the DDOS attacks were aimed at WrongPlanet.net, but it certainly didn't look like it to me. I suppose a DDOS of the HTTPS side of WrongPlanet.net could have happened, but why leave the HTTP side running just fine (HINT TO OTHERS: I was able to log in by using the HTTP entrance instead of the HTTPS entrance)?

Now that it has been disclosed the the attacks were conducted by Wikileaks contractors, and that Wikileaks itself has asked them to stop, the WrongPlanet.net HTTPS side should now work, but it doesn't.

Am not having trouble getting here to WP.

But I do get those McFee Warnings flashing. That :"whoa! Are you sure you want to go here. We detect viruses". You don't usually get that warning on WP, or at most respectable sites. You get those when you've stumbled into some dark corner of the web like some sleazy porn site.

Regardless if Julian Assange and company are behind making the lives of autistic people more miserable or not, that guy's really been pissing me off as of late. Hopefully, Anonymous will F with Wikileaks.

I am still getting messages today that "the site can't provide a secure connection" when I Google WP and connection to it fails.

It is possible that one or more of the tech companies that were hacked maintained certificates for WP's SSL (HTTPS) site. If so, it might take days or weeks for the companies to correct things. Meanwhile, I am simply signing in on the HTTP site.
