Hopefully that wont pass, you cannot ban protesting....and whilst traffic blocking is a nuisance and probably not a very good way to bring positive attention to your cause especially if its done when people are trying to get home from work or running errands or whatever, not sure it is felony worthy.

So whenever the government or a corporation does something that violates what the people stand for, they expect us to smile, bend over, and take it up the ass.

The only economic terrorism I see is what happens when you let oligarchs and the GOP get together to do whatever they want and the nonwealthy pay a terrible price.

what it boils down to, is the 1% sees pofolk as either economic terrorists [non-contributing to their profits] or as potential insurgents. we are the enemy now to the PTB, just because we are poor.

This source looks like a completely leftist publication rather than a reliable news source. It talks about a republican senator starting a bill, but I'm not seeing the name of the senator in the article.

Here's a rule of thumb to go by, if you can't find the same story in respected reliable legitimate news sources, there's a good chance it's fake news.

as I said in posting above, I saw it reported on my local nightly news on TV.

Wouldn't a senator proposing a bill to ban protests be a national news story?

Here's a King5 report, which probably what you saw
http://www.king5.com/news/politics/wash ... /353329433

And going from there using the senator's name, Doug Erickson, I was able to find a Seattle Times report, but that's as far as I can take it so far. Just local news.

Wouldn't a senator proposing a bill to ban protests be a national news story? See if I presented this as current events at school, it's wouldn't meet their criteria.

what is not to believe about that news report? it happened, the opposition party reacted to it, it is not make-believe.

There are a lot of fake news stories out there. Along with minor things being blown out of proportion. Therefore I find myself holding things up to scrutiny. If it's 100% true and something of significance, it should easily pass a scrutiny test. Personally at this time I don't consider State Sen. Doug Ericksen, R-Ferndale, a prominent political figure. Which is probably why it's only being covered by local news.

Things like one person spraying graffiti or a minor politician saying he'll introduce a bill, just isn't something I personally take seriously.

but if rep. Ericksen gets this thing passed, the GOP will see it as a nationwide template. don't you see how dangerous this is?

The type of protest this covers are those that do property damage and/or pose a public safety issue, not any and all protests. It probably won't go through, anyway. People really need to get hold of themselves over this Trump thing, he's still two months and change from even taking office.

"State Sen. Doug Ericksen, R-Ferndale, says he’ll introduce a bill for the upcoming legislative session that would allow felony prosecution of protesters who purposely break the law to disrupt economic activity, for example by blocking traffic or sitting on railroad tracks."

This stuff is already illegal. He just wants it to go from being a misdemeanor to a class A felony.

So let them and see if I care.
They've been going bonkers over Trump for about the past year and now thier worse nightmare is descending upon them. They had thier eight years with Obama and now it's someone else's turn.
